I stayed around Rovaniemi, where everything looked like a Christmas postcard. I also spent time in Levi, surrounded by snowy forests, and had one of those unforgettable evenings waiting for the Northern Lights. The cold was intense, but somehow I didn’t mind. Japan gave me a completely different winter experience. Sapporo was my favorite, especially with its snowy streets and warm bowls of ramen waiting everywhere. I also loved visiting Otaru, where the quiet canals looked beautiful under the snow. A winter trip to Hakuba would be perfect if you’re into skiing. Then there’s Switzerland. Explored Shikisai-no-oka with its paranomic rainbow flower fields, and then Farm Tomita for the most magical flower views! The meat is incredibly plump and sweet. This time, we went off the beaten path and headed straight to Shukutsu Fishing Port to hunt for hidden culinary gems! The seafood here is unbelievably fresh. Fishermen sell their fresh catches right at the pier, and plenty of locals flock here to stock up! We decided to grab a bite at a popular local spot—Minshuku Aotsuka Shokudou. We ordered a seafood donburi, a sea urchin set meal, and grilled scallops, all paired with a bottle of Otaru beer. It’s the ultimate taste of Hokkaido! Every bite is packed with freshness: the sea urchin is insanely creamy, and the scallops are incredibly sweet and tender. Honestly, you'd be hard-pressed to find flavors like this anywhere else 😋.
