I went to see a polar bear 🐻❄️❄️♡ Momota 🐻❄️❄️ was born in December 2025. I went in June and he had grown to over 50kg, but he was still small and cute♡ I stayed at Morinaga Ryokan, which is a 3-minute walk from the station! I finally went to the restaurant I'd been wanting to visit for a while and enjoyed a seafood donburi lunch. It was incredibly generous with ingredients: large, thick-cut fatty tuna, botan shrimp, monkfish liver, squid, red tuna, egg, tuna puree with green onions, and mentaiko (pollock roe). The tea was genmaicha (brown rice tea). The accompanying pickled radish and kelp were also delicious. It was truly an impeccable lunch. I'll definitely come back next time I renew my driver's license. The location is in the Minamisuna residential area. This seems to be an izakaya (Japanese pub) serving local Akita cuisine, and the evening menu looked delicious too.
