Noshiro travel guide and discussion

Noshiro Tanabata, also known as "The Nightless Castle in the Sky," is a festival held annually on August 2nd and 3rd in Noshiro City, Akita Prefecture. The event features massive castle-shaped lanterns parading through the streets, creating a lively atmosphere. Among them, the 17.6-meter-tall "Karoku" and the 24.1-meter-tall "Aiki," the tallest in Japan, are truly breathtaking and awe-inspiring. The vibrant lanterns, combined with the sounds of drums and traditional festival music, create a magnificent spectacle that feels like a dream. The festival takes place along National Route 101, from Kamimachi to Tōmachi in Noshiro City, Akita Prefecture. Specifically, the main parade route runs from the Noshiro City Hall entrance intersection to the Tōmachi intersection. The address near the venue is Motomachi 11-7, Noshiro City (around the Noshiro City Hall area).

⛩️After visiting Kin'yu in Noshiro, I was walking around the area when I happened to notice a shrine gate. "Since I'm here, I might as well stop by," With that casual thought, I headed towards Hachiman Shrine. ⛩️Passing through the torii gate, the atmosphere of the town I had just been walking through changed slightly, and a quiet and peaceful shrine grounds unfolded before me. Walking around the grounds, I discovered another shrine, Miyoshi Shrine. ⛩️I wasn't aiming to visit a major tourist spot; it was truly a "shrine I stumbled upon by chance while walking." These kinds of unexpected discoveries are part of the joy of traveling. ⛩️The grounds of Hachiman Shrine also contain old trees and stone monuments, and walking slowly gives you a sense of Noshiro's history. ⛩️What particularly impressed me was the "inverted pine tree" in the shrine grounds. ⛩️While traveling to tourist destinations is enjoyable, experiences like this one, where you "just wander around and find a wonderful place," also leave lasting travel memories. 🌸After visiting Kin'yu, I recommend taking a short stroll around the surrounding area. A walk through Noshiro like this is highly recommended. 📍 Noshiro Hachiman Shrine 📍 Miyoshi Shrine 📍 Kin'yu Visiting historical buildings, strolling through the town, and stopping by a shrine I stumbled upon by chance... It was a relaxing trip to Noshiro like that. 😊

🍀While walking around Noshiro, I visited the "Former Ryotei Kin'yu" (former restaurant). Apparently, it was actually used as a restaurant until about 20 years ago. Entering the building, I was struck by the calm atmosphere that remained, typical of an old-fashioned restaurant. And what impressed me most was the garden. The building and garden harmonized beautifully, and just gazing at it through the window was incredibly calming. "I imagined what it would have been like to dine here," I gazed at the garden for a while, imagining such a thing. It felt less like visiting a historical building and more like experiencing a little bit of the atmosphere of an old-fashioned restaurant. After seeing the interior, I went to the tourist information corner. This place was also very comfortable... I ended up relaxing for quite a while, looking at the Noshiro tourist information. 😊 While it's fun to pack your schedule and visit tourist spots one after another when traveling, it's also nice to stop and spend time in places like this. The former Kin'yu restaurant offers a glimpse into Noshiro's history as a "city of wood," as well as the charm of an old-fashioned restaurant and a beautiful garden. If you visit Noshiro on the Resort Shirakami train, I recommend taking a short walk from the station to stop by. For me, it was a memorable moment in Noshiro, encompassing not only seeing the building but also admiring the garden and relaxing at the tourist information corner.

🚈 I traveled to Noshiro on the "Resort Shirakami," which departs from Hirosaki Station at 8:48 AM. The main highlight of this trip was this specific train running along the Gono Line. 🍎 As we left Hirosaki, the peaceful scenery of the Tsugaru Plain unfolded outside the window. While gazing at apple orchards and rural landscapes, the train slowly made its way west. Then, after a little while, the view changed dramatically. The part I was most looking forward to on this Gono Line trip was the spectacular scenery of the Sea of Japan. 🌊 Along the sections running right by the coastline, the Sea of Japan filled the entire window, and scenes that made me want to take photos appeared again and again. Just swaying with the train and watching the ocean was enough to make me feel like I was truly on a journey. The intermediate stations and the scenery along the route each had their own unique charm. And then, there were the views overlooking the Shirakami-Sanchi mountains. Unlike a typical train commute, rather than rushing to a destination, I felt that the joy of this trip was the time spent on the train itself just to see these views. Eventually, the train entered Akita Prefecture and reached Noshiro Station via Higashi-Noshiro. A rail journey from Hirosaki to Noshiro, enjoying the changing scenery from the window. After actually riding it, I think I understand a bit why the Resort Shirakami has remained popular for so long. From the landscapes of Tsugaru to the Sea of Japan. And then to Akita while viewing the Shirakami-Sanchi mountains. If you're traveling through Tohoku, this is a train you'll want to experience at least once. This trip only went as far as Noshiro, but now I want to extend my journey even further next time. 📍 Hirosaki Station → Noshiro Station 🚃 Resort Shirakami 🌊 Gono Line 🏔️ Shirakami-Sanchi 🇯🇵 Rail journey through Aomori and Akita

I rode the incredibly popular sightseeing train "Resort Shirakami" on the Gono Line! I was constantly soothed by the vast expanse of the blue sea visible through the large windows and the charming scenery along the route. 🚃💨 🚂 About Resort Shirakami Operating Section: Akita Station to Aomori Station (via Gono Line) Attractions: Large windows for enjoying the scenery, and a warm, wood-filled interior design Train Types: There are three types: "Buna (Beech)," "Aoike (Blue Pond)," and "Kumagera (Woodpecker)." Which one you get to ride is part of the fun! I rode the Kumagera (Woodpecker) this time! 📍 Highlights of the Trip 1. The breathtaking scenery of the Sea of Japan filling the train windows 🌊 In the sections running right next to the sea, a stunning coastline unfolds that will take your breath away. The train even slows down at scenic spots – a truly thoughtful touch! 2. The "Basketball Hoop" at Noshiro Station 🏀 A unique feature befitting Noshiro, a city renowned for its basketball! A real basketball hoop is located on the platform, allowing passengers to experience free throws while the train is stopped. 3. A Stop and Stroll at Senjojiki Station 🪨 Some trains stop at Senjojiki Station for about 15 minutes. You can descend to the rocky ledge (Senjojiki Coast), which resembles a tatami mat, and take a stroll. 💡Regarding Reservations Due to the popularity of this train, it's recommended to purchase reserved seat tickets in advance at a ticket office or online. "A Seats (Ocean Side)" are Recommended 💺💖 To fully enjoy the scenery of the Sea of Japan, securing an A seat on the ocean side in the direction of travel is a must! Many people may not know this, but... If you go to the last car (or the front or rear car), you can get a "Commemorative Stamp" to commemorate your trip! Please stamp it on a commemorative card or notebook as a souvenir 😊 The window frame was like a picture frame, and the scenery of the Sea of Japan flowing by was as beautiful as a painting 🖼️✨ If you're traveling in the Aomori/Akita area, this is a train you should definitely ride! #ResortShirakami #GonoLine #SightseeingTrain #Aomori #Akita #Senjojiki #SenjojikiCoast #AomoriTrip #AkitaTrip #TohokuTrip #TrainTravel #DomesticTravel #trip #japantrip #japan

The true meaning of travel is never about how far you go, but how you reconnect with the world. When we put down our phones to observe the shifting clouds, listen to the wind rustling through the leaves, and feel the warmth of the sun on our skin, we are no longer mere spectators, but a part of the earth itself. This connection grounds us, making us realize we don't exist in isolation, but breathe in harmony with all living things. Travel teaches us to perceive the world anew, to find the extraordinary in the ordinary, and to hear our inner voice amidst the noise.

#Travel itinerary This is a travel itinerary to Noshiro City, Akita Prefecture, where Noshiro Kogyo High School, the inspiration for Slam Dunk Sanwang Kogyo, is located. After moving from Gimpo to Haneda, we spend about 5 hours there and take a domestic flight from Haneda to Akita Prefecture. There are three places to take a domestic flight to Haneda, but today we take a bus and board at the prefabricated building gate in the middle of the runway. We arrive about 10 minutes late. The bus waits another 20 minutes. We leave our suitcases and luggage on the bus and take a look around the airport for about 15 minutes. We visit Kita Akita Takanosu Station for the first time in 2 years. The airport bus stops here and comes back. We came to take the Akita Nairiku Shuttle Railway. It is one of the areas where the Jomon period World Heritage Site is located. We transfer to a local train and arrive at Noshiro Station at 7:30 PM. The trip to Noshiro, the city of Slam Dunk, which is the motif of Sanwang Kogyo High School, which is all about basketball, was a little quiet because there were no people, but it was still a fun schedule. I came back to Japan after a long time and thought "I really want to eat yakitori!" so I went to a yakitori restaurant in Noshiro 🍗 Location: Yakitori Hoppy Minami About 15 minutes by bus from Noshiro Station First of all, it's great that they have a tatami room! And the menu is handwritten! It's nice 💓 The customers are mostly locals, and it's a restaurant that is loved by the locals! The age range was from us in our 20s to people in their 60s. The motsu stew, pork feet, and yakitori were all the best!! #Noshiro #AkitaGourmet

Qingzhao Temple is famous for its exquisite architecture and beautiful gardens. I wandered through the temple grounds, taking in the history and tranquility. The architecture here combines Japanese and Chinese elements, giving people a sense of elegance and tranquility. 🍃🏞️ In addition to the temple itself, I also participated in some Buddhist meditation activities to allow myself to experience the spiritual sustenance of the temple more deeply. I find a quiet spot in the garden to sit and meditate and feel my inner self. This quietness and introspection makes me feel peaceful and tranquil. 🙏🌸 Qingzhao Temple is a spiritual journey to an ancient Japanese temple. The temple atmosphere and beautiful gardens here make people feel the tranquility and peace of mind. If you also long for a journey connected with religion and Japanese culture, why not find a suitable time to take a spiritual journey to Qingzhao Temple! 🌸🙏 #Japanese and Korean urban attractions
