Located at the north of Vientiane, Vang Vieng is a small town which one of the must visit destination in Laos. If you happened to visit Vang Vieng, you should probably go to its iconic spot which called Nam Xay Viewpoint. The trip to Vang Vieng from Vientiane city will take about two hours drive, so it will not wasting your travel time. As the Nam Xay Viewpoint is the iconic destination of Laos and also you need to do hiking to get to the very top, I highly suggest you to go during afternoon time starting from 3PM so you will not get hot burning your body. Also you will get the best view ever during sunset time! During this time, you will also witnessing the air balloon up in the air to complete your excitement in this place. There are two options to go to Vang Vieng: 1. You may take fast train from Vientiane to Vang Vieng. But it is quite effort on how to get train ticket as the ticket will always almost sold out if you book it on the D-Day. If I may check, there is an online reservation on the application to secure your train ticket. Or you may ask local people or the hotel receptionist to assist you for the booking. 2. And that time, I chose the airplane view point, and didn’t have enough time to go to the pegasus view point.
