Construct
Construction of the town was started in 1851 on the hill of Murree as a sanatorium for British troops.
Since the Independence of Pakistan in 1947, Murree has retained its position as a popular hill station, noted for its pleasant summer weather. Many tourists visit the town from the Islamabad-Rawalpindi area.[8] The town also serves as a transit point for tourists visiting Azad Kashmir and Abbottabad. The town is noted for its Tudorbethan and neo-gothic architecture. The Government of Pakistan owns a summer retreat in Murree, where foreign dignitaries including heads of state often visit.

The stunning Murree 🤍☃️✨
The Murree Galliat region is known for its scenic vistas of pine- and oak-covered mountains, criss-crossed with springs and rivulets and dotted with lawns and orchards. On clear days a good view of the snowy peaks of Kashmir is possible, and the crest of Nanga Parbat can sometimes be seen 💫

Kashmir po
Kashmir point in Murree is possibly the most accessible view of Kashmir but that doesn’t make it any less astounding. Although the mountains far off in the distance are continually covered in snow, Murree is not. When it snows locals turn a profit by making horse and camel shaped snow men on the road sides for visitors to pose with and have their photos taken. They often decorate them with tassels and flowers. Of course the best time to see the snow men would be by the day after it snows and not much later! Elsewise, you get this chunky camel for your photos 🐫 ⛄️

Arriving i
Arriving in Murree after a short drive up the mountain from Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, you can’t help but notice a melding of classic mountain charm and a haphazardness which keeps it lively and interesting. The weekend crowds mill about, snacking, poking at the muddied snow, and taking in the fresh air.

The narrow
The narrow mountain roads ought to deter big trucks like this but not in Pakistan! The decorated truck is a cultural symbol of the lands, each one competing to add more patterns, more bling! The mountains are my own personal symbol of Pakistan. Wild and undiscovered, cultures the rest of the world might not imagine are found in these hills. Mystical and ancient.

Murree Sun Escape🌞
If you’re planning a relaxing getaway in Pakistan’s famous hill station, Murree, here’s why Hotel One Mall Road is my top pick for both comfort and location! 🌲⛰️ My trip centered around this cozy property on The Mall—think prime access to the iconic GPO Chowk and Mall Road, some seriously Instagram-worthy mountain views from the upper floors, and all within walking distance of the best spots in town.
Top Spots to Visit:
- Hotel One Mall Road Murree (Jawa Building, GPO Chowk, The MALL): The ultimate base for exploring! Stay here for comfy, tidy, and modern rooms—plus fresh mountain air and stellar panoramas. Pro tip: Ask for an upper-level room for the best sunrise shots.
- Mall Road: A must-stroll vibe where local shopping, chai stalls, and street snacks keep things lively. Super safe and active until late evening.
- Local GPO (just steps away from the hotel): Great spot for old-school architecture fans.
- Nearby walking trails: For that sunny, chill-out mountain feel!
Murree Insider Tips:
- Snap a classic pic—like I did—in traditional dress by your car with those epic mountain and sunny skies in the background. ☀️
- Hotel breakfast here is on point—go early for the best variety!
- Pack a light jacket, even in summer; the weather turns breezy fast.
Getting Around:
Stay local and walk—most landmarks are clustered together. For drivers, parking on The Mall can be tight during peak hours, so plan accordingly.
Food Rec: Try the tea stands lining Mall Road for true local flavor.

🌾 Chill Vibes in Watrous – Spa Bliss Meets Small-Town Charm 🛁
Looking for a laid-back escape? Watrous is famous for its therapeutic Manitou Springs Mineral Spa and classic prairie hospitality. Start your day at Manitou Springs Mineral Spa — you’ll float effortlessly thanks to the mineral-rich waters (it’s called “Canada’s Dead Sea” for a reason!). Must-dos: soak in the spa pools, try a local massage, or just bask in the warm glow of relaxation. The water is said to help soothe aches—bring a swimsuit you don’t mind getting a salty rinse! 📸 Insta-worthy angle: capture the bright blue pools with the big prairie sky as your backdrop.
After your spa session, wander down to Little Manitou Lake for a photo op—sunset glows over the water are unforgettable. If you’re up for small-town exploring, drive into Watrous for classic Canadian eats and quirky shops.
Top visiting tip: Manitou Springs Mineral Spa can get busy, especially weekends—try booking your session early or opt for a weekday if you love more space and quiet. Be sure to hydrate before and after your soak, and avoid bringing delicate jewelry into the mineral pools (it can tarnish). Also, pack a comfy towel and flip-flops for an easy spa transition.
Precaution: The spa water is high in minerals and salt—so limit your soak to 20-30 minutes if you’re new, and rinse off afterward to keep your skin happy!

Murree: Pakistan's peaceful dream.
Murree, located in the mountainous area of northern Pakistan, is like a fairyland forgotten by the world, exuding an independent and charming atmosphere.
There are beautiful scenery in all four seasons. In spring, the warm sun penetrates the mist, awakening the wild flowers all over the mountains. The colorful flowers dot the green hillsides, just like a comic book created by nature. In summer, the lush forests are like a green ocean, and the pine waves bring The refreshing coolness makes people who are seeking refuge from the summer heat stroll through the mountains, intoxicated by the freshness and tranquility; when autumn deepens, the mountains and forests are dyed with golden and fiery red, and the fallen leaves dance, paving a poetic path; when winter arrives, the white snow gently wraps the mountains, and the silver The snow-covered Murui looks like a snowy town in a fairy tale.
The rich British colonial heritage is integrated into the architecture, and exquisite wooden villas are arranged in a staggered manner. The balconies and carved railings are simple and elegant, telling stories of the past. In the bustling market, there are a wide variety of goodies such as Kashmir blankets and hand-embroidered shawls. The stall owners are enthusiastically recruiting customers. The air is filled with the mellow aroma of roasted dough and spiced tea, outlining the unique leisure and warmth of Murree, inviting people to this mountain market. The agreement between.

Murree, Pakistan: A mountain city where nature and culture dance together.
In northern Pakistan, Murree is like a shining star in the mountains, radiating a unique and charming allure.
Murree's natural scenery is like a magnificent painting. The mountains stretch out like the green spine of the earth, with the seasons painting them in different colors. In spring, the mountains are covered with flowers, with pink and white wild apricot blossoms and bright rhododendrons spreading across the green slopes like a dreamlike flower field. In winter, the mountains are covered with snow, creating a pure and magnificent scene that attracts many photographers to capture this icy wonderland. The fresh air in the mountains is filled with the scent of pine, and streams meander through the landscape, playing a crisp melody that accompanies hikers on their journey.
The local culture is also unique. Walking through the streets of the town, you can see traditional Pakistani architecture, with exquisite wood carvings and colorful painted tiles showcasing the local craftsmanship. These buildings stand alongside European-style villas from the colonial period, telling stories of the past. The bustling markets are filled with handmade blankets, carved copperware, and other goods, while food stalls emit the aroma of grilled lamb skewers and sweet halva. The enthusiastic shouts of vendors and the satisfied praises of customers create a lively atmosphere, showcasing the rich charm of Murree.
