🚩 Chofu The adventure begins the moment you step out of Chofu Station! Hunting for traces of Kitaro along the way. From the sidewalks and little parks to Tenjin-dori Shopping Street, there are surprising yokai statues everywhere: Kitaro, Medama Oyaji, Nezumi Otoko, Ittan Momen... and more! It feels like stepping into the yokai world created by Shigeru Mizuki. Little surprises are hidden around every corner, making it impossible not to stop and snap photos. It's just so cute~ 🚩 Ghibli Museum, Mitaka This was a highly anticipated part of the trip. I was so bummed about not getting tickets last year. "Shirohige's Cream Puff Factory" is the one and only shop authorized to make cream puffs shaped like the wildly popular Totoro. Beloved worldwide, the Studio Ghibli character Totoro has been transformed into an adorable cream puff that's almost too cute to eat! The flavors also change with the seasons! Alongside the classic custard, they offer seasonal flavors that will make you want to come back all year round 🍋 Right outside, there's a huge Totoro cutout that makes a perfect photo spot. Inside, they also sell cookies and other treats. The entire Totoro vibe is just incredibly cute! There is no dine-in space, but many people eat around the shop, and trash cans are conveniently provided! They also give you ice packs, making it perfect for takeout ✨ They often sell out in the afternoon, so we highly recommend getting there early if you want to make sure you get one! Another location actually features a cafe, so cafe-hopping is a great option too!
