Katano travel guide and discussion

Kyoto's maple leaves are famous, making Osaka's autumn foliage seem a bit understated, but after experiencing it firsthand, I found Osaka's autumn leaves just as splendid. What's more rare is that it’s not as crowded as Kyoto. Here are 8 hidden spots for autumn leaves in Osaka, all worth visiting one by one~ 🍁 Katsuo-ji Temple A thousand-year-old temple hidden deep in the mountains, with autumn forests dyed in layers of color. The temple is famous for countless "Daruma dolls," blending simplicity with spiritual charm. 🚇 Transportation: Take the Osaka Metro to Senri-Chuo Station, then transfer to bus No. 29, about 30 minutes. 🍁 Minoo Park Mountains covered in red leaves accompanied by a waterfall, an ideal place for hiking and enjoying autumn. 🚇 Transportation: Take the Hankyu Railway to Minoo Station, about a 5-minute walk. 💡 Tip: You can hike from Katsuo-ji Temple to Minoo Waterfall in about 40 minutes, with beautiful autumn scenery along the way. 🍁 Osaka Castle Park An Osaka landmark where the castle tower and autumn leaves create a picturesque scene, perfect for snapping great photos anytime. 🚇 Transportation: Accessible by various subway lines, with stations all around. 🍁 Daisen Park Japanese Garden An elegant garden dotted with autumn leaves, where dappled light falls and reflections in the water combine with flowing streams to create a poetic scene. 🚇 Transportation: Take the JR Hanwa Line to Mozu Station, about a 10-minute walk. 🍁 Expo ’70 Commemorative Park Autumn colors like a painting, with modern architecture such as the Tower of the Sun inside the park, perfect for photo ops. 🚇 Transportation: Take the train to Banpaku-Kinen-Koen Station, then cross the footbridge and walk about 5 minutes. 🍁 Hoshida Enchi The iconic "Star Swing" suspension bridge, 280 meters long, is a popular spot during the maple season. 🚇 Transportation: Take the Keihan Katano Line to Kisaichi Station, about a 40-minute walk. 📍 Nearby Recommendations: From Osaka, it’s very convenient to travel to and from Nara and Kyoto, making it perfect for a relaxed day trip.

A beautiful autumn escape from the nearby cities of Osaka, Kyoto or Nara, the Hoshi no Buranko bridge in Hoshida Park is well worth the trip. Hoshida Park is a prefecture level forest park in the Ikoma mountains. In autumn, the leaves are transformed into stunning red, orange and yellow shades, with the hillside almost on fire with colour. The walk itself starts at Kisaichi station, from where it's around a two hour round-trip to the Hoshi no Buranko bridge. Although the bridge itself is the main attraction, it's the peaceful walk through the forest which made the trip for me. #autumnleaves #fallingforfall #kyoto #osaka #nara #hikingtrails #japan

Do you know Hoshi no Buranko? It's located in the suburbs of Osaka. Elementary school students from Osaka often visit it on school trips. The highlight is the long suspension bridge, 280 meters long! It sways quite a bit, so some people may be scared. It's 50 meters high. If you look down, your legs may freeze. #GourmetTrip #HoshidaEnchi KatanoSuspensionBridge StarBlank I went hiking with a friend. During lunch time, I searched online and found this cafe. It was really delicious. It was cheap and the atmosphere inside the shop was super cute.

#Get a discount without relying on luck ❄️ The first snow in Koyasan was unexpectedly beautiful. Initially, I just planned to see the quiet temple town, but I happened to encounter a day with heavy snowfall. Everything turned white – the streets, trees, Buddha statues, and the Okunoin cemetery, which looked incredibly peaceful. It was freezing while walking, but so beautiful that I kept stopping to take pictures. 😆 The snowfall was just like in a Japanese movie. The only sounds were the snow and the quiet chatter of people. The atmosphere was very still and slow-paced. I loved that Koyasan isn't a bustling tourist town with lots of bright lights; it felt very charming, especially on a snowy day. The statues and stone lanterns along the way looked like paintings. Another funny thing was my pink shoes; they stood out so much! 🤣 I initially thought they wouldn't fit the view, but they ended up being the only color in the frame that made the photos look bright and cheerful. The journey was also lovely. I took the Nankai train and then the cable car up the mountain. It felt like gradually escaping the city and entering another world, even quieter. If you're planning to come in winter... I recommend wearing non-slip shoes and good gloves because it really snows, you'll be walking, and it's really cold ☃️ This is another place in Japan that isn't flashy, but it was a trip I'll remember for a long time 🤍 #Koyasan #Okunoin #JapanWinter #Wakayama #SnowInJapan #TravelJapan #TripMoments

🏖️ Overview: 　Mt. Katano ⛰️ is located in Kuraji, Katano City, Osaka Prefecture. Part of the Ikoma mountain range, it stands at an elevation of 341 meters. Serving as a landmark for Katano City, the summit features a massive boulder 🪨 called Kannon-iwa, which offers a sweeping panoramic view of the Osaka and Kyoto areas. As a true symbol of the city, the west side of this giant rock is engraved with Sanskrit characters. At night, you can enjoy a stunning nightscape 🌃, but please be extremely careful when standing near the edge of the rock! 💞 Why I Recommend It: 　　I drove there, so I parked at the "Katano Ikimono Fureai no Sato Parking Lot 🅿️" and hit the trail right away. I was a bit bummed out by the sheer number of bugs 🦟, but the hike to the top was pleasantly moderate. The giant boulder 🪨 appeared right before my eyes, and I was totally blown away 🫢 by the view, which was way better than I expected. An absolute masterpiece of a view‼️ It’s a breezy climb with fantastic scenery, so I highly recommend it 😃 Thanks for the great time, Mt. Katano. 📍 Location: 📮 576-0001 Kuraji Katayama, Katano City, Osaka Prefecture 📍 Access: Keihan Line: Kawachimori Station Or about a 1-hour walk from JR Tsuda Station By Car 🚙 Walking distance from the Katano City Ikimono Fureai no Sato Parking Lot 🕰️ Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM .

#springitinerary #KatanoJourney #SakeBreweryVisit #HiddenJapan #SakeLovers #JapaneseTradition #CulturalExperience #BrewingMagic #KatanoVibes #OffTheBeatenPath #SipSavorExplore Tucked away in the quiet beauty of Katano, I found myself stepping into a world of history, craftsmanship, and the comforting aroma of steamed rice — all inside a local sake brewery. The visit was like walking through a secret chapter of Japan’s cultural book. Friendly staff welcomed me with genuine smiles and deep knowledge. I got to see where the magic happens — from polished rice to bubbling fermentation tanks. The entire place had an earthy, slightly sweet scent that somehow felt… nostalgic, even if it was my first time there. And the tasting? Absolutely the highlight. I sipped a variety of freshly brewed sake — from crisp and dry to rich and aromatic. There was one that was slightly cloudy and smooth — I’ll dream of that taste for a while. What made the moment even more special was learning how deeply connected sake is to Japanese seasons, traditions, and even daily life. It wasn’t just a tasting — it was an experience. A quiet one, full of soul. Travel Tips and How to Get There: · Best time to visit: · Anytime, but autumn and winter give extra depth to the sake-making process · Must-dos: · Take the guided tour (if offered) to learn about traditional brewing methods · Try multiple types of sake — from junmai to nigori · Bring home a bottle (or two) — they often sell exclusive brews only available on-site · Vibe: · Warm, peaceful, and rooted in centuries of craft · Good for: · Culture enthusiasts, food & drink lovers, and anyone curious about Japan beyond the big cities How to Get There: · From Osaka (Umeda Station): · Take the Keihan Main Line to Hirakata-shi, then switch to the Katano Line to Kisaichi Station · By car: · About a 1-hour drive from central Osaka · Pro tips: · Check ahead if tours or tastings require reservations · Wear comfortable shoes – some breweries have traditional flooring or narrow stairways · Don’t drink on an empty stomach — pair with some local snacks or plan a nearby lunch spot

Hidden Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots Near Osaka – Don’t Miss These Three Places! Settsu Gorge Park in northern Osaka: a 3-kilometer cherry blossom tunnel through the gorge, accompanied by streams and suspension bridges, with few visitors and a peaceful atmosphere; Ibaraki City Riverside Cherry Blossom Path in northeastern Osaka: hundreds of weeping cherry trees along the riverbank like a pink waterfall, illuminated at night for a perfect romantic vibe; Kisaicho Cherry Blossom Corridor in Katano City, eastern Osaka: a blend of rural scenery and ancient temple cherry blossoms, a local secret spot ideal for visitors who enjoy tranquility. Suggested itinerary: Transportation – Take the Hankyu train to Minoo Station then transfer to a bus for Settsu Gorge; Ibaraki City is a 20-minute direct ride from Osaka Station via JR Kyoto Line; for Katano City, take the Keihan train to Kisaichi Station and walk 10 minutes. The best time is from late March to early April. It’s recommended to visit on weekdays or early mornings to avoid weekend crowds. Gear suggestions: wear non-slip shoes for Settsu Gorge, bring a picnic mat for Ibaraki City, and since there are fewer shops along the route in Katano City, bring your own snacks and water. For a deeper experience – when visiting Settsu Gorge, you can also explore Minoo Falls, perfect for hiking enthusiasts. In Ibaraki City, we recommend visiting Tadao Ando’s Church of the Light for a dual enjoyment of art and cherry blossoms. Additionally, Katano City’s Amada Shrine has a thousand-year-old cherry tree, rich in history, ideal for photography and cultural exploration. These hidden spots have fewer facilities, so it’s best to travel light and quietly enjoy the serenity and beauty of cherry blossom season.

Hoshida Park is a nature lover’s paradise, offering a breathtaking cherry blossom experience in a mountain setting. Located in the northern part of Osaka Prefecture, this park is known for its scenic hiking trails, suspension bridge, and panoramic views. During spring, the cherry trees bloom beautifully along the walking paths, creating a stunning contrast with the surrounding greenery. The park’s highlight is Hoshida Suspension Bridge (Hoshi no Buranko), one of the longest pedestrian suspension bridges in Japan, which offers spectacular views of the cherry blossoms from above. The peaceful and uncrowded environment makes it an ideal spot for those looking to escape the city and immerse themselves in nature. Whether you’re up for a light hike or just want to enjoy the sakura scenery from the observation decks, Hoshida Park provides a refreshing and unique way to experience cherry blossoms in a stunning mountainous landscape.

#2024TravelReview Hoshida, a suburb of Osaka, get off at Hoshida Station on the JR Gakkentoshi Line. It takes about 70 minutes to walk from Hoshida Myokengu to Hoshida Garden. There is a beautiful legend about the "Hoshida Fumin-no-Mori" near the Hoshida Shrine. It is said that the bridge where the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl meet once a year is here. This forest park not only has beautiful scenery that changes with the seasons, but also has campsites, climbing walls, suspension bridges, hiking trails, and more. It is full of so many different charms that you might want to call it a "mysterious forest". The information center next to the outdoor climbing wall also has a small indoor climbing wall for children to experience, which is a great place to get in touch with Japan's nature. #日本小粉 #osaka2024 #家庭旅行

#japantrip Hoshi no Buranko, or the “Swing of the Stars,” is a breathtaking suspension bridge located in Hoshida Park, Osaka, Japan. Spanning 280 meters, it offers stunning panoramic views of the lush forest below, especially vibrant during autumn when the foliage turns fiery red and golden. The bridge, gently swaying in the breeze, creates a thrilling yet serene experience. Accessible via scenic hiking trails, it’s perfect for nature enthusiasts and photographers alike. While the climb can be challenging, the reward is worth it. Hoshi no Buranko is a tranquil escape from the city, combining natural beauty with a sense of adventure.

Hoshida Park is a large public park located in the eastern part of Osaka. It is an ideal spot for hiking during the autumn season, with its cool and comfortable weather and shady trees. To get there, you can rent a car and park at the park's parking lot (there is a parking fee). For public transportation, you can take a train to Kisaichi Station and then walk to the park. There is a designated walkway along the river, but it involves quite a bit of stair climbing. Alternatively, you can walk along the road, but it is not recommended due to the narrow shoulder. The highlight of the park is the Hoshi no Buranko Bridge, a large suspension bridge that spans between two mountains within the park. The view from the middle of the bridge is stunning, especially in early December when most of the leaves have turned brown, creating a unique and beautiful scenery. It is recommended to stop by the administration area near the rock climbing wall to use the restroom and grab a map. This is the only spot where you can buy water and food, and the next restroom is quite far and requires a significant uphill walk.

When I went to Osaka, I was looking for a good place to go for a drive and found "Hoshi no Buranko". It was a chilly season when the wind blew, so I wore a down jacket, but I sweated on the mountain path to the suspension bridge, and I was drenched in sweat by the time I reached the suspension bridge. The road is divided into gentle and hard courses, so I got the impression that there were many people of all ages visiting this place, even small children passing by! I went in heels, but it's best to go in shoes after all. Even if you climb in heels, it took about 25 minutes. Hoshi no Buranko is a popular suspension bridge located in Hoshida Enchi Park. When I visited, it was even more impressive than the photos, and the autumn leaves were absolutely beautiful 🍁 The bridge doesn't sway, so it's not scary at all. Instead, I was moved by the breathtaking views from the bridge✨ It seems that the greenery is also beautiful during the fresh green season, so I would like to visit again in the summer!! 【Name】Hoshi no Buranko 【Location】5019-1 Hoshida, Katano City, Osaka Prefecture, 576-0011

I visited the 'Hoshi no Buranko' in Katano City, Osaka Prefecture. The suspension bridge is located within the Fumin no Mori forest. Since I couldn't park my motorcycle in the parking lot, I parked it in the bicycle parking area. As it is a suspension bridge, I expected it to be near the summit, but there were no cable cars or trolleys, so I had to hike for about 40 minutes one way (´×ω×`). The path to the management building is paved with wooden steps and concrete, but from there, the trail becomes quite steep and unpaved. I recommend buying water at the management building before starting the climb (`･ω･)b. Being one of the largest suspension bridges in Japan, it is quite high ε٩(๑>ω<)۶з. Since it was sunny, the view was fantastic♡ｷｬｯ(∀〃(〃∀)ｷｬﾂ♡. 🏍Hoshi no Buranko🏍 Address: 5019-1 Hoshida, Katano City, Osaka Prefecture Hours: 9 AM - 5 PM Closed: Year-end and New Year holidays

Ayugaeri Falls is a perfect destination that combines the breathtaking scenery of a waterfall with the beauty of nature. Whether you want to experience the majestic power of the waterfall up close or relax in the serene natural surroundings, this place will satisfy your deepest desires. The waterfall at Ayugaeri Falls cascades down from a cliff several tens of meters high, creating splashes of white water that resemble a natural silver curtain. Standing in front of the falls, listening to the roaring water and feeling the powerful force, one cannot help but feel a sense of awe. Whether you are bathing in the mist of the waterfall or experiencing its impact up close, you will be able to appreciate the endless magic of nature here. A visit to Ayugaeri Falls will undoubtedly become an unforgettable memory in your life! The sound of the flowing water is soothing and pleasant to the ears. Everywhere you look, you see lush green trees, like a colorful landscape painting. Being here, you can feel a refreshing sense of cleansing for the soul. This is truly a natural paradise that makes me reluctant to leave.

#Sightseeing It takes just over 10 minutes on foot from JR Hoshida Station. At the top of the stone steps is the ruins of Shingumiya Hachimangu Shrine, which was enshrined from Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine, and a park with playground equipment for children. It is also the place where Tokugawa Ieyasu hoisted his military flag from the pine tree and set up his camp during the Summer Siege of Osaka in 1615. On a lower point to the north was Aizen Ritsuin Temple, where the famous nun Otagaki Rengetsu once lived.

How about seeing the autumn leaves from a suspension bridge? The scenery is very nice and the view is great♡ᵎᵎᵎ The suspension bridge sways quite a bit when there are a lot of people on it, so those with weak vestibular canals may get quite dizzy, but the view from the suspension bridge is spectacular. The leaves are beautifully colored, and you can enjoy them while walking around✩︎⡱ By the way, it's like a mountain path, so I recommend wearing sneakers◎ There aren't many people, so it's highly recommended for those who want to take their time to see the autumn leaves! #PR #Osaka Tourism
