Enoshima Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
An island escape just off of Tokyo 🇯🇵
Enoshima (江の島) is a pleasantly touristy island just off the coast but connected by bridge with the mainland.
Attractions I visited:
Love Bell
Southern Coast
Iwaya Caves
Sea Candle
Enoshima Shrine
Getting there:
From Tokyo
Take the JR Tokaido Line from Tokyo Station or the JR Shonan-Shinjuku Line from Shinjuku Station to Fujisawa Station (45-50 minutes, 990 yen) and transfer to either the Enoden (10 minutes, 220 yen) or Odakyu Railway (7 minutes, 160 yen) for Enoshima. Alternatively, get off at Ofuna (40-45 minutes, 820 yen) and transfer to the Shonan Monorail for an exciting ride to Enoshima (15 minutes, 320 yen, stand or sit at the front of the car for interesting views).
From Kamakura
The one way trip between Kamakura and Enoshima by Enoden train takes 25 minutes and costs 260 yen. There are trains about every ten minutes.

Iwaya cave
Two touristy and easily walkable caves can be found in the cliffs along Enoshima's southern coast. The first cave contains some Buddhist statues, while the second cave is dedicated to the legendary dragon that used to terrorize the area.Carved by aeons of tidal erosion, the Iwaya Caves consist of two caves which are 152 meters and 56 meters deep respectively. These caves have long been the subject of religious faith, and during the Edo Period, many worshippers gathered here as a sacred site of the Benzaiten faith. Today, the caves are a popular tourist spot. From the exhibits on display here, visitors can get a sense of how Enoshima’s history and culture have developed over the centuries.

Owakudani Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Have You Tried the Famous Black Eggs?
Owakudani Black Eggs, a renowned culinary marvel, are eggs cooked in the steaming volcanic vents of Hakone's Owakudani area. Nestled amidst the rugged volcanic terrain and sulfurous fumes, these eggs undergo a unique transformation, acquiring their distinctive black shells due to a chemical reaction with the volcanic gases.
The taste of Owakudani Black Eggs is reminiscent of regular eggs but with a subtle richness and earthy undertones, attributed to the volcanic minerals permeating the shells during the cooking process. Locals and visitors alike savor these delicacies not only for their unique appearance but also for the cultural significance and purported health benefits, with legend suggesting that consuming one can add seven years to your life.
Visitors to Owakudani can enjoy these iconic eggs at designated stalls or shops situated near the volcanic vents. Here, they are freshly boiled in the natural geothermal steam, providing an interactive and sensory experience. Many opt to purchase these eggs in bundles, often sold in batches of five or more, symbolizing good luck and longevity.
The allure of Owakudani Black Eggs extends beyond their distinct appearance and taste; they embody a cultural tradition and a connection to the volcanic landscape of Hakone. Whether indulging in their unique flavor or embracing the folklore surrounding them, these eggs offer an experience that tantalizes both the palate and the imagination for visitors exploring the captivating wonders of Owakudani.
Eat long life black Egg
In the Owakudani area near the Hakone volcano there are places where hot smoke comes out of the ground (it's not a geyser) the smell of sulfur which scorches the ground in a yellow color. View of Lake Ashinoko and Mount Fujiyama in Japan. It is amazing, don't miss the cable car ride, boating on the lake and visiting the open museum. It is said that the Japanese cook eggs in the hot springs which gives them a black color. A belief holds that eating one egg adds 7 years to life. The place also has a restaurant and sells ice cream, which is also black in color. I will buy again black egg is very yummy and also for souvenir.

A Must to Owakudani
#celebratewithtrip
Beautiful place to visit. Owakudani, is a volcanic valley with active sulphur vents and hot springs, is the product of a volcanic eruption that occurred over 3,000 years ago.The peak is about 1044 meter high and you can see the inactive volcanoes and smokes coming out from the volcano.
The ropeway is a great experience especially on a sunny day. There are fantastic views of Fuji, souvenirs, and a chance to try a hot spring boiled egg - the black eggs or 黒卵.The rumor about the black egg is that if you have one black egg then your life expectancy will increase to extra 7 years. Its really very interesting rumor that almost 95% tourists buy Black eggs.
Really must visit once.

Kamakura Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
How does the Kamakura pilgrimage encounter a super-tour group?
A perfect Kamakura tour You have to find a sunny day, start early, come to the train crossing that the team has not yet arrived, it is best to rainy season, look at the hydrangea by the way, how hard it is Put it together, Kamakura is a kind of sentiment, but don't overestimate it, with a normal heart to recall the film that brought us a lot of emotion. However, Jiangdian is really fascinating. If you come here, you dont want to be empty-handed, but you can change your perspective.
Recommend two methods, one is to buy a ticket to go back and forth, jump off the station as you like, walk out of the platform on the road to find a cute figure of Xiaojiangdian. Another one is the secret coffee shop [Luonto], which is located at the Hakaya Station. You can see it when you get off the bus.
One of the more famous stations called "Jiangzhidian" to Kamakura is called - Kamakura University. The reason why it is famous here is that for many uncles of the 80s, it is because of a cartoon "slam dunk", the intersection of Sakuragi and Haruko, for the direct access to the power of the river to the "Kangcang University Front Station" along the only The road came out of the intersection. When you get off the bus, you can see the intersection where Sakuragi and Haruko meet, and the memories suddenly come to mind. Its really the same. A lot of people are taking photos there. The road next to it is where Ryuukawa often rides, and its full of memories. The coastal scenery is particularly good, but we have heavy rain on the day, but there are still many people coming here to take pictures. Take a photo here and take a look at Kamakura University.
How to shoot a Japanese blockbuster for a child, that is to go to Kamakura! Take your child to Japan, you may wish to go to Kamakura. There are more than slam dunks here, there are seas, fireworks, and all the scenery seems to bring a natural Japanese filter.
From Tokyo, the subway is very convenient. You can choose JR or Odakyu Electric Railway. In the Kamakura area, if you only want to go to Enoshima, the Odakyu Electric Railway has a one-day pass for Enoshima, which sells for 1970 yen. You can take a trip to the Odakyu regular train between Shinjuku and Fujisawa in one day, and take the Odakyu regular train between Fujisawa and Katsura-no-Mori. This ticket also includes Edo Island 1st Passport, which offers free access to Enoshima Prospect Lights, Enoshima Rock House and Enoshima Escalator. However, it should be noted that the Enoshima Day 1 holiday ticket cannot be used by Jiang Zhidian. The one-day coupon of Enoji Electric can be purchased at Kamakura Station or Fujisawa Station. The fare is 650 yen, and you can take the Enoshima sightseeing train without restrictions within one day.
We stayed at the Park Hotel, some distance from Jiangdian, but the room was not bad.
, you can meet the sea at any time, you can also put fireworks at the seaside in the evening, like the Haijie Diary.
Although the beach is much worse than many islands, the children are still very happy.
Take out the camera and take a shot, and immediately have a child's Japanese blockbuster.
From Tokyo to Kamakura, from bustling to quaint, from the tall buildings falling into the fresh coast, but an hour away. Kamakura is to follow the scene of the "Slam Dunk" in the past, the Kamakura college in the memory of youth.
The former station of Kamakura University in Japan, contains the youth of many people. As the location of the famous anime "Slam Dunk" in reality, Sakuragi Flower Road greets Haruko for the first time. When the small train passed the intersection of the traffic lights, it seemed to be back in the comics. Without more words, it stood at the crossroads and quietly listened to "until the end of the world".
You can walk to Enoshima along the waterfront next to the tram. The former Enoshima only appeared when the tide ebbed. It is said that in April 552, a large amount of sand poured out from the seabed. After 21 days of baptism, the sand island was formed. The evening island scenery is very beautiful. Its also very good to watch the sunset here. Arriving at the top of the mountain, you can overlook the entire Kamakura scene, and the lights of the family and the sea complement each other.

Hakone 1 day itinerary🍛
Hakone 1 day itinerary for first timers:
Catch the tram and cable car to Gora, ride the ropeway to Owakudani.
Try black curry and black edd at Owakudani plus chocolate ice cream!
Get on a pirate boat to Lake Ashi, visit Hakone Shrine, dip in private onsen.
Enjoy a refreshing soak in the hot springs of Hakone, Japan - Lake Ashi and Lake Kawaguchi offer stunning views of Mount Fuji.
Near Tokyo, Japan, is the town of Hakone, which can be reached by taking the JR train. Hakone is a great place to soak in hot springs ♨️, with hotels and guesthouses of all sizes offering their own hot springs. We booked a hot spring hotel package with excellent service, and could soak in the hot springs both morning and night. The pools in the morning and evening were different, and we could enjoy the view of Mount Fuji and the surrounding scenery while soaking in the hot springs. It was a true luxury.
Lake Ashi is peaceful and beautiful, and Lake Kawaguchi reflects Mount Fuji. When you wake up in the morning, clouds float over the top of Mount Fuji like a fairyland.
LAKE ASHI (JAPAN) IS BACK!
Due to COVID, Lake Ashi was closed for some time and is now open again. This location is a must-see as it is one of the most scenic places to visit for the scenery and the onsen spa.
Three thousand years ago, the vapour from an eruption of Mount Kashima's volcano created this location. The lake water originated from a spring near the lake's bottom. Please be advised that swimming is prohibited in Lake Ashi.
