I stayed alone at an affordable, convenient, and stylish hotel in Jongno 3-ga! 📍Jongno MAKERSxIPPDA Hotel I had a bad experience with a taxi in the past where I was almost overcharged and driven recklessly, so I generally avoid taxis and prefer using the subway or buses. Location is key for me! This hotel is just 10 seconds away from the subway exit, which is fantastic. Jongno can be noisy, but I requested a higher floor and stayed on the 8th floor, which was quiet and comfortable. Another charm of Jongno is the abundance of delicious local restaurants. Accommodation costs in Seoul have risen significantly compared to pre-COVID times, but many people are hesitant to stay in dormitories or jjimjilbangs. (I'm one of them!!) The hotel I stayed at this time and highly recommend is the BREAD HILL HOTEL & SUITES in Jongno 3-ga!! However, it's not perfect for everyone, and I'd highly recommend it for those who fit the criteria, so I've listed the hotel's "Strong Points" and "Weak Points." Please use this as a reference. · --🔵Strong Points------------------ ・A very clean hotel due to open in 2025 ・1-2 minutes from Exit 14 of Jongno 3-ga Station (There is an escalator at Exit 14) ・3 minutes from the bus stop ・Self check-in/check-out ・Not a dormitory ・Shoes are not permitted inside the room ・The bedroom and bathroom have separate doors, so you don't have to worry about disturbing your roommate when using the bathroom ・Converter plugs are provided in the room ・The hair dryer has ample airflow ・Toilet paper can be flushed ・Toothbrushes, hair combs, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and body milk are provided in the room ・Takeout meals such as chicken can be enjoyed with friends in the lounge ・Garbage and used towels are collected and left in the hallway If you leave it there, they'll collect it. · Triple rooms available. · The hotel staff are very friendly. · Ikseon-dong, Gwangjang Market, and Dongdaemun are within walking distance. · -🔴Weak Points------------------ · The rooms are small. · The toilet gets wet when you shower. · There's no elevator, so if you're staying on the second floor or higher, you'll need to carry your luggage up the stairs. · The refrigerator is small, so you can't store things like kimchi. · Noise from the hallway is quite audible. · One card per room is issued at check-in. Among them, COFFEEBAY BAKE & BISTRO stands out as a particularly large and impressive hanok. This spot is delightful both during the day and at night, offering a great atmosphere to enjoy. In addition to coffee, bread, and cakes, they also serve wine. The seating capacity is moderate, neither too many nor too few. On sunny days, even in autumn, you can enjoy the open terrace seating. Gyodong Jeon Seonsaeng Jongno-gu Office Branch 교동 전 선생 종로구청점 I ordered one jjigae dish, choosing kimchi jjigae. It had a tangy flavor that perfectly suited my taste. The price varies depending on the number of Jeon you order. I opted for the smallest set of six pieces, which included king oyster mushrooms, eggplant, tofu, perilla leaves stuffed with minced meat, cutlassfish, and zucchini. Jeon is often served in large portions or as a mixed platter, making it hard to finish, so I visit this place occasionally when I travel to Korea. It truly makes me happy. There are various types of jjigae available as well. For fans of historical dramas who want to try Jeon, this place is a must-visit! Even if the restaurant looks crowded and you hesitate outside, the staff are kind to solo diners, warmly encouraging you to come in.
