Standing beneath the pagoda and looking up, 1,500 years of history hit you like a wave. The awe is beyond words🙏 The highlight is the Northern Pagoda Museum next door. The museum’s treasures are too many to count, so I’ll go through them one by one👇 The Liao dynasty seven-treasure pagoda—the only one in the world, truly unique! The 1-meter-tall pagoda body is made with 3,287 crystal beads, decorated with gold and silver threads, inlaid with coral, agate, and colored glaze. The most amazing part is the "pagoda within a pagoda" structure, with a relic of Shakyamuni Buddha enshrined at its core. Under the lights, it sparkles so brightly you can’t look away✨ The Persian glass bottle—a 16 cm tall transparent glass bottle shaped like a proud crouching bird. Inside the bottle is a smaller bottle! This national treasure came all the way from Persia, a living proof of the Silk Road. There are also gold and silver scripture pagodas and gilded silver pagodas, with details so exquisite they take your breath away. But the biggest surprise for me was—the earliest "Nezha" is hidden here! Yes, the Nezha who rides on wind and fire wheels🧨 The museum has a Liao dynasty stone box unearthed in 1986 from the underground palace of the northern pagoda. The four sides of the stone box are carved with the story of "Nezha troubles the sea," with the inscription "Great Sage Prince Nezha."
