The Hok Un Power Station, owned by China Light and Power Company Limited, was established in 1921. It's a must-visit for history enthusiasts! Hok Yuen Village inspired its name. Hung Hom, a place filled with memories, was once adorned with tall chimneys and billowing smoke from the plant. In World War II, the plant's machinery was destroyed by CLP as ordered by the government to keep it out of Japanese hands. After the war, it was back in business. In 1994, the Hok Un Power Plant underwent a remarkable transformation, becoming the enchanting Laguna Verde. Today, the only reminder of its past is the street name "Hok Yuen Street."
