🌿 Discover a hidden retreat in the Hidaka forest. Enjoy luxurious time embraced by nature at the natural resort Hygeia.
Hidaka, Hokkaido.
Nestled in the mountains of this area, known for its racehorse breeding, lies a small, secluded auberge.
Its name is "Natural Resort Hygeia."
Named after Hygeia, the Greek goddess of beauty and health, this inn boasts an exclusive space with only seven rooms.
Located at the foot of the Hidaka Mountains, close enough to hear the waves of the Pacific Ocean, it's so deep in nature that you might wonder, "Is there really an inn ahead?" as you drive.
That anxiety instantly transforms into exhilaration upon arrival.
## A Gateway to the Extraordinary: Welcomed by Horses and Grasslands 🐴
As you drive deeper and deeper into the wilderness, Hygeia suddenly appears, surrounded by grazing horses.
Some say that the special experience begins the moment you park your car and are greeted by staff and offered a stylish welcome drink.
The pure air of Hidaka, the tranquility of the mountains, the distant sound of the river.
Perhaps the greatest charm of this inn is the feeling of being completely detached from everyday life.
## Nouvelle Hidaka Cuisine, Delicacies from the Inn's Own Farm 🍽️
Hygia's meals are a course menu called "Nouvelle Hidaka Cuisine."
The dishes feature Hidaka kelp, beef from free-range cows, and organic, pesticide-free vegetables grown in the inn's own garden, creating a healthy and wholesome dining experience.
Particularly highly praised in reviews are the "Aiko Tomatoes," mini tomatoes grown on the inn's own farm.
They are used not only in dinner but also in the tomato juice served at breakfast, offering a completely different taste from what you usually drink.
Don't miss the lineup of local delicacies, such as freshly harvested honey and local wine aged in caves in the Hidaka Mountains.
## Relax your mind and body in our private spa ♨️
Hidaka kelp, birch sap, honey, herbs, horse oil…
Experience therapies using abundant natural blessings from Hidaka, a unique feature of Hygeia.
When we stayed, we had the spa area all to ourselves.
## A maisonette room overlooking the mountain grove 🛏️
There are a total of 7 guest rooms.
From the bedroom, you can feel the mountain grove up close, and hear the distant murmur of the river amidst the tranquility.
In the morning, you can wake up surrounded by birch trees and greenery—a truly healing experience.
We stayed in a maisonette-type Japanese-Western style room, and even with three people, it wasn't cramped at all; we were able to relax comfortably.
## Summary: A place that makes you want to return to Hidaka's nature again
"I started visiting Hokkaido just to stay at Hygeia"—this is the kind of feedback we receive from guests who are captivated by this auberge, Natural Resort Hygeia.
Enjoy the bounty of its own garden, course meals featuring ingredients from Hidaka, and rooms and a private spa surrounded by nature.
It's a place to remember when you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and slowly unwind your mind and body 🌲
