Golden vineyards covering the hillsides, a estate with over 500 years of history, and the intoxicating Amarone wine—all these elements combined to create a wonderful and unforgettable journey.
Italian wines are world-renowned, and Amarone, produced in the northern wine region of Valpolicella, is one of Italy's finest red wines! I was fortunate enough to visit the famous Allegrini estate for a classic and enchanting wine tasting experience.
The Allegrini family purchased the 16th-century Villa Della Torre in 1989. Surrounded by vineyards, the estate boasts stunning scenery, while its exterior retains a medieval charm, complete with Romanesque gardens. A stroll through the estate left me deeply captivated by its understated elegance! Even China's richest man, Jack Ma, has been a guest at the estate's dinners!
In autumn, the vineyards transform into a sea of gold, a dreamlike scene reminiscent of a paradise on earth! This wine tasting was held in one of the estate's classic banquet halls, which retains its medieval style and exudes a rich romantic atmosphere. The hall features a charming angel fireplace and tastefully arranged tables—a perfect spot for a few drinks!
Another banquet hall boasts a magnificent lion fireplace, another highlight of the estate! The lion is a classic symbol of Venice. Verona was once ruled by the Venetian Republic, and the Venetian lion emblem can still be found in some parts of Verona.
We sampled four wines from Allegrini: the refreshing white wine Soave, the easy-drinking red Valpolicella Classico, the award-winning Palazzo Della Torre, and the classic Valpolicella Italian red, Amarone.
Allegrini wines have consistently received numerous awards and high praise over the years; their quality is truly excellent! Especially the Palazzo Della Torre; it was a delightful surprise from the first sip, its rich aroma unforgettable. And Amarone, of course, is my absolute favorite.
