Deposit and top-up cost: 3,000 yen (approximately 660 baht) 🍽️ Food: We didn't focus much on eating out. We didn't go to famous restaurants or anything like that, just ramen shops, yakiniku places, and convenience stores. 🔮 The Making of Harry Potter - Warner Bros. A HOTEL WHERE THE ELECTRIC TRAIN RUNS RIGHT OUTSIDE THE WINDOW 😳🇯🇵 Yes, you read that right. The commuter train literally passes right outside the window. At first, you think, "Oh... how am I supposed to sleep?" 😅 But it actually turned out to be much more fun than we expected. It's especially interesting to observe real Tokyo life right from your room—trains rush past, and you sit with a cup of coffee and realize: well, this is Japan! 🇯🇵 🏨 And now about the hotel itself We stayed at the sequence SUIDOBASHI—and despite such an unusual view from the window, the hotel left a very pleasant impression. ✨ Very convenient location—JR Suidobashi Station is literally a minute's walk away, and Toei Mita subway is about 6 minutes away. ✨ Stylish modern interior—minimalist, everything is neat, clean, and uncluttered. ✨ The bed was very comfortable – after a whole day on your feet in Tokyo, this is especially important 😅 ✨ They provided water every day – a small thing, but when traveling, these little things really make a difference. ✨ The hotel's great outdoor area – with lanterns, tables, and a pleasant atmosphere – is a nice place to sit in the evening. ☕️ There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, so you won't have to go far for breakfast. 🛍️ You can also walk to the huge Don Quijote – that Japanese store where you can get lost for a couple of hours and emerge with bags for no apparent reason 😂 🎢 And Tokyo Dome City is also very close – entertainment, rides, and the famous Ferris wheel. 🚆 And yet, the main question is – is it noisy? That's probably the most interesting thing. The train is really close. And if you choose this room, you need to understand that the train will literally be part of the view from the window. But for us, this became more of a feature of Tokyo than a drawback. Because where else can you lie in bed, look out over the city at night, while Tokyo's commuter trains whiz by just a few meters away? 😄🇯🇵 This hotel is definitely not for those looking for sterile silence. 🍜🇯🇵 While traveling in Kyoto, I heard that Chairman Lee Jae-yong had visited, so I went to check it out myself, feeling like I was on a pilgrimage! Haha. 📍 Kitada (貝だし麺) It is a small ramen shop located near Kyoto Station! (A 10-minute walk from Kyoto Station) I visited around 6 PM on a weekday, right during peak dinner time. There was a bit of a wait in front, and I waited for about 15 minutes. The interior of the shop was cozier than I expected! 🐚 Since it was clam broth ramen, I could taste the umami of the clams in the broth, and the overall flavor was clean. +However, personally, it was a little on the salty side for a Korean palate! Here are some essential tips to help you survive the trek, avoid getting worn out, and still nail those perfect photos. 🚶‍♀️ How much walking is involved? (Distance & Step Count) · Distance: Between the uphill climb, the temple loop, and the descent through the shopping district, you’ll cover about 2 - 3 kilometers. · Step Count: Get your legs ready—you'll likely clock in around 5,000 to 8,000 steps (depending on how much you explore). · Incline: Expect continuous hillside slopes interspersed with stone stairs. 🎒 Outfit & Packing Tips (Focus on mobility, not bulk) · Agile Attire: Stick to lightweight, breathable clothing. Long skirts or trousers that aren’t cumbersome are great, but supportive sneakers are the most important thing! · Don’t Overpack: Use a small backpack or a crossbody bag. Leave unnecessary items at the hotel so you can walk comfortably without shoulder pain. · Hats with Straps: These are a lifesaver! The wind can get quite strong at the top, and a strap will keep your hat from flying off. ☆☆ Rainy Day Gear: ☂️ Long Umbrellas: These help a lot! It isn't really about being out in nature, as you are in a town; on the small side, but a town nonetheless. But you also don't have much sightseeing to do, or places to visit. Could it be the ancient form of staycation? It's about enjoying being in a calm aesthetic cocoon where everything is taken care for you Got reminded of these traditional holidays while staying at the Kusatsu Hotel 1913 (no PR, paid myself for the full price): very peaceful atmosphere, very comfortable environment, renovated but with authentic touches left: there's a tea ceremony room! And the hot springs, star of the property, are obviously amazing. Depending on when you book, it's an affordable option to try the traditional Japanese staycation!
