Penetrating Nature: A Magic Waterfall Huangguoshu

The waterfall is 81 meters wide and 74 meters high. During the rainy season on a period starting from mid May to the beginning of October, the powerful flow of water becomes simply deafening. Named after a plant species common in the Huangguoshu area (Huangguo Tree), Huangguoshu Waterfall is the third largest waterfall in the world, behind Niagara Falls and Victoria Falls. The entire scenic area of Huangguoshu Falls, consisting of 18 waterfalls of various styles with a length of 20 kilometers, is magnificent due to the grandiose interconnected waterfalls, fantastic karst caves and underground lakes, as well as the excellent beauty of the environment. Being a typical karst waterfall, the Huangguoshu Waterfall National Scenic Area is an amazing karst landscape with groups of waterfalls, a series of caves, overlapping steep peaks, dense vegetation and countless stone forests, cliffs and gorges. The city of Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, is located closest to the waterfall. There are regular direct buses from the city. The travel time to the tourist area of Huangshu Waterfall is two to three hours. Huangshu Waterfall is the largest in China. And together with twenty neighboring waterfalls, it forms the largest group of waterfalls on the planet, listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Huangshu Waterfall is located on the territory of the national Park of the same name, which is known for untouched relict forests and endemic plants.
