Huishan Ancient Town Jichang Garden

#NovemberGood Places2024 Jichang Garden is located at the eastern foot of Huishan Mountain on the east side of the western suburbs of Wuxi City. It is one of the four major gardens in the south of the Yangtze River. With its superb borrowing of scenery, sophisticated mountain stacking and water management techniques, this garden shows the natural harmony, agility and wildness of the mountains and forests. Emperor Qianlong once built Huishan Garden in the Summer Palace, modeled after Jichang Garden, and later renamed Xiequ Garden. He also composed as many as 169 poems for Jichang Garden, expressing his deep feelings for this garden. In autumn, Jichang Garden features towering trees, whirling bamboo shadows, desolate outlines, simplicity and tranquility. The ancient trees in the garden have witnessed the great changes of this famous garden in the south of the Yangtze River for more than 500 years. Jiangnan people recommend going to Jichang Garden for autumn appreciation because all the scenery in Jichang Garden revolves around a pool of water.
