Conquering nature’s staircase in Sepanggar!

This hill is located about 30 minutes away from the capital city of Kota Kinabalu. I recommend a morning hike as the scenery is very pretty along the way. I usually start the hike at around 6:30am. There is only one trail head and it’s one way up and down. It’s a mix of steep and flat terrain. That’s is one segment that can be quite challenging, especially if it has just rained. This is because the terrain is covered with red soil. Towards the last 200 metres to the peak, there will be an option of either going around the hill, where you’ll see beautiful boulders and swings, or a steep straight hike up. Either way, the view at the end is breathtaking. Recommended to take a friend at least once to help take pictures. 😃 The entire journey would take around 2 hours for semi fit individuals, and about 3 hours plus for beginners. This is both way up and down. A must go if you’re a lover of hikes and nature, if you’re in Kota Kinabalu!
