PAYTON FISHER

Took my one-and-a-half-year-old baby on a hiking trip | A leisurely two-day, two-night trip to Tonglu

Just had the whim to go to Tonglu for the May Day holiday, arrived a day early, visited Daqi Mountain and Malingshan Ancient Trail, truly deserving of being named one of the best travel destinations by 'National Geographic'. The real-life version of 'Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains', I was utterly amazed!! Travel itinerary: Day 1: Daqi Mountain Forest Park Day 2: Maoping Village ➡️ Malingshan Ancient Trail ➡️ Shishe Village Focused on a relaxed and leisurely family trip, we slept until we naturally woke up, then went to enjoy the scenery and local delicacies. Even special forces could check off everything in one day ⛰️ Daqi Mountain Forest Park 1⃣️ Known as the 'Little Jiuzhaigou of Hangzhou', with bamboo forests, waterfalls, cliffs, suspension bridges, and blue water ponds, the scenery is too beautiful. Along the way, there are many small waterfalls and streams, and some parts of the path have shallow running water, which made the kids so happy to splash around 🤭 2⃣️ Besides the scenery, there are also amusement facilities. The Green World has children's non-powered play equipment, such as climbing, swings, slides, etc. Inside, there's a Happy Forest with charged attractions like rafting, go-karts, and a warrior park, where you can buy a combo ticket. 3⃣️ There's only one road up the mountain in the scenic area. If you don't go to see the Heavenly Pool and the big waterfall, you can go straight down the mountain. You can choose to take the 'Flying Squirrel in the Forest' (60r/person) which is similar to a small train going downhill, but it's not very cost-effective, as it doesn't take long to walk down the mountain, and the journey isn't very far. 4⃣️ There are many small shops in the scenic area, so replenishing energy on time is not a problem. 5⃣️ Taking kids hiking is somewhat challenging, but because there were many people and we moved slowly, and there were many children to play with, plus the kids and teammates were very supportive, the overall hiking experience was very enjoyable, a precious and unforgettable memory! ⏰ Playtime: Half a day 💰: Ticket price 46r/person, free for children under 1.2 meters 🌳 Malingshan Ancient Trail: The Malingshan Ancient Trail is 12km long, from Luzi Village to Maoping Village to Shishe Village 1⃣️ For a no-brainer walk with kids and dogs, choose the most essential part of the route from Maoping Village ➡️ Shishe Village, which takes about an hour and a half (with stops), the path is very flat, beginner-friendly, and feels like a walk. 2⃣️ The bamboo forest along the way provides shade so it doesn't feel hot, with blue skies, white clouds, green mountains, and clear waters surrounding you, and a water channel running alongside the path. The water is now blue-green, the most beautiful forest ancient trail, I'll come back to walk the whole thing next time. 3⃣️ My favorite village is Shishe Village, which is less commercialized and gives a quaint and comfortable feeling. The stream running through the village is shallow and clear, and children can throw pebbles and play in the water. 4⃣️ There are buses between the villages, I saw bus stops but no buses, probably because of traffic jams during the May Day holiday. There are many free parking lots along the way. ⏰ Playtime: Half a day 💰 Admission: Free 🍱 Cuisine: Going to unfamiliar places to try local snacks can be a pleasant surprise. The food I think is similar to Shanghai and Jiangsu-Zhejiang cuisine, nothing particularly amazing, just standard fare, but the ingredients are very fresh, and the popularity rankings can't be wrong. The experience is better on regular weekends or weekdays, but for the May Day holiday, it's already not too crowded. Adults can also go to OMG Heartbeat Park, Yaolin Wonderland, and Tianzi Di Amusement Park to experience the 4km glass rafting, which is very suitable for families with children. I'll come back when the kids are older!!
