Tangshan 24 hours Day 1: It was already evening when I arrived, and I went out for a walk expecting a night market vibe, but I was truly shocked! Hetou Old Street is really a hidden gem! The most impressive thing is the humanized service here, with thoughtful service stations providing hot water, mung bean soup, and lemon water. A cup of hot water is really a savior for the large temperature difference in Tangshan at night! There are also continuous sprays of mist in the streets and alleys, which really cool down the temperature and create a smoky atmosphere. The 68 yuan ticket is really worth it, with performances scattered everywhere: shadow puppets, dance, musical instruments, singing. The NPCs are also very professional and dedicated. The performance schedule is posted at the end. Artificial rivers connect the entire scenic area, and countless lanterns are a stunning sight at night. You can take a boat ride from the dock, and if you catch a performance on the boat, you get a prime view. Day 2: In the morning, I went to the famous Tangshan Banquet, and there were really a lot of people!! Looking outside, there were tourist buses everywhere, which made me realize the power of senior tour groups. Tangshan's food is so delicious, and the most memorable for me was the Qizi baked bun: with meat and mung bean fillings. The meat filling tasted a bit like fresh meat mooncakes, very fragrant and tender with juice inside, and I easily finished a box.
