National Heritage Check-in: Yi Pu (National Level VI)

Yi Pu, located at No. 5 Wenyabang Alley, Changmen, Gusu District, is a sixth batch national key cultural relic protection site, from the Ming Dynasty, classified as an ancient architectural site. Yi Pu was originally built in the 20th year of the Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1541). It consists of a residential area and a garden. The residence is divided into five sections, including the Shilun Hall, Donglai Thatched Cottage, and the Biaoge Studio. The garden is to the west of the residence, with a central pond. To the north of the pond, the focus is on buildings, such as the Boya Hall, Yanguang Pavilion, and Yanggu Book Hall, while to the south, the emphasis is on mountainous scenery, with cliffs and stone paths by the pond made of lake rocks, offering both variety and a natural feel. To the east of the pond is the Rufish Pavilion, a remnant of the Ming Dynasty. Yi Pu's garden scenery is simple and open, natural and unpretentious. Wen Zhengming's great-grandson Wen Zhenmeng once lived here.
