The connection is that this temple has a principal chedi built as a memorial to victory, namely Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The temple's principal chedi was constructed by King Naresuan the Great and stands at 1 sen and 1 wa in height, making it the tallest in the city, commemorating the victory in the battle where the Burmese army encircled Nong Sarai, Suphan Buri. King Naresuan and King Ekathotsarot led their troops to battle and brought back victory. Afterward, King Naresuan renovated the temple and built the principal chedi to celebrate his rank and commemorate the victory, which also enshrines the sacred Chai Mongkhon Katha. Wat Yai Chai Mongkhon is a popular destination for tourists due to its historical significance. Besides the highlight of the chedi, visitors can also pay respects to the Buddha in the ubosot in front of the chedi. On the side of the ubosot is the reclining Buddha, the large image of the Tuesday Buddha. Admission is free for Thais, while foreigners are charged 20 baht. The temple is open from 08:00 to 17:00.
