Sitti Nurbaya Bridge

Sitti Nurbaya Bridge is a bridge that spans 156 meters over the Batang Arau river, Padang City, West Sumatra. This bridge connects the city center with Seberang Padang. Taking its name from the classic novel Sitti Nurbaya by Marah Rusli, this bridge is the access to Mount Padang, one of the settings for Sitti Nurbaya. Built since 1995, the construction cost Rp. 19.8 billion from the regional and central government budgets, assisted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund (OECF). Its use was inaugurated in mid 2002, marked by the presence of television drama actors Sitti Nurbaya HIM Damsyik, Novia Kolopaking, and Gusti Randa. #bridge
