Uwasekigata Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Uwasekigata Park
#japantrip This season is the best time to see the full bloom of cosmos flowers. It is so lovely and I even took a lot of pictures. The straw festival is on-going too, you may able to see work of art using straws . The park is wide and spacious for walking or jogging. The kids may enjoy at the playground that has colorful slides, monkey bar and even go-kart too. We were lucky to see the swans relaxing just beside the pond. I like the park and I enjoyed so much because of the lovely cosmos field.

Nice little park, quite famous for sunflowers I heard. We went to see the cosmos and were quite pleased with the walk, statues and flowers. Can easily combine the park with a visit to Yahiko shrine!
Nice park! I came for the Wara Art and that stuff was super impressive. However the park provides a nice setting for these pieces of art...............

Sekibun Memorial Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Sekibun Memorial Park
#thingstodo
Since it is located in the Sea of Japan, the climate changes greatly depending on the day. I went to Golden Week and the waves were very calm and the weather was clear.
It's a very scenic place. There is also an observation deck, but it is quite high because it is built on top of a small mountain.
They call this the octopus park.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Nishiohata Park Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Nishiohata Park
#thingstodo
This is a park in front of the Niigata City Art Museum. Two people are pruning the branches and weeding every day
It's not a large park, but in the summer, the central pond is filled with water, making it cool.
It's a peaceful park where you usually see people having lunch on the pavilions and benches in the park, but the best time to visit is during the cherry blossom season.
There are benches under the cherry blossom trees, and you can see them under the blooming cherry blossoms within reach. So you can spend your time as you like. The area is dotted with sightseeing spots in addition to museums nearby. I think this is a great park to take a break from sightseeing in Niigata. Photos not spring season.
Mt. Kakuda Travel Recommendations for 2024 (Updated in Apr)
Kakuda beauty mount 🇯🇵🗻⛰️
#timetotravel
Located about 30 minutes south of Niigata City by car, Mt. Kakuda, along with it’s taller neighbor Mt. Yahiko, is a beautiful and integral part of Niigata’s landscape. It’s peak tops out at 473m in elevation. Being from Colorado I’m quite fond of blowing a dismissive breath through my lips and saying, “My house is higher than that.” That’s perfectly true, but no mountain in Colorado can be hiked from sea to summit. Several hiking trails lead to the summit of Mt. Kakuda, but the steepest, most difficult (and therefore the most fun) trail starts on Kakuda Beach just below the Cape Kakuda Lighthouse. The route is about 5km in length and despite being steep for the first half of the climb, I found it to be a fun, easy hike. Sakura in full bloom on my third ascent of Kakuda at the end of April served to enhance the already stunning scenery even further.
