Habu Temple in Luxor 🇪🇬

The Habu Temple, located on the western bank of the Nile in Luxor, is one of the largest and best preserved funerary temples of ancient Egypt. It was built by Pharaoh Ramesses III of the 20th Dynasty as a burial place for himself and as a sanctuary dedicated to the god Amun. The temple was built in sandstone and has an 18 meter high façade. Inside, the temple is composed of courtyards, hypostyle halls and sanctuaries. The walls are decorated with reliefs representing scenes of battle and daily life. The temple has been restored several times over the centuries, the last time in 20191. It's a must-visit when you are in Luxor, a nice temple less crowded compared to the other attractions in the area. #christmastrip
