【Egypt·Luxor·Ramesseum】Once the Temple of Millions of Years

📍Egypt·Luxor·Ramaesseum Ticket: 180EGP Still a lesser-known attraction in Luxor. It's severely damaged, and there's not much to see. The temple of Ramses II. The entire temple originally covered 50,000 square meters, connecting the whole of Luxor. It is said that the ancient Egyptians called this place the Temple of Millions of Years. At the entrance of the temple, there were originally a pair of statues of Ramses II made of granite, now only the head of one remains. The other granite statue was taken away by the legendary figure Belzoni from Abu Simbel, now in the British Museum . The statue of Ramses II, which is about 18 meters high and weighs over 1000 tons, described in Shelley's 'Ozymandias', lies quietly on one side of the temple courtyard, slightly desolate. The name of the pharaoh can still be vaguely seen on its arm. The hypostyle hall is not so complete, but the murals on the wall can still be vaguely identified. Compared to Abu Simbel, this place is so inconspicuous. But once, this was the Temple of Millions of Years of the son of light.
