The Gore London - Starhotels Collezione

#thingstodo This hotel is perfect. The decor and furnishing are second to none. The welcome was warm and helpful. The room was lovely - large window, lovely fabrics, the bed was immaculate, the linen was top quality.. it was really comfortable TV placed discreetly in a period style bookcase. Really thick fluffy towels, bath robes which were generous in size. We are not big people but these robes enveloped us while many hotel robes are skimpy. Excellent hotel in great location. Close to museums and Hyde park and some great restaurants. Coffee shops and restaurants are about ten minute walk. Hotel has a nice bar with great cocktails. There is also another lounge on the ground floor for relaxing which is very nice. Room was small but perfect for a three night stay. Staff very helpful especially George the concierge. Very nice stay. Well done The Gore! The bar was immaculate - constant attention to detail. A taxi was ordered for us, and we were shown to it, the door was held open by the concierge Breakfast was delicious - really fresh and beautifully presented by a charming maitre. When we asked if we could take a cup of coffee into the library to read the papers - plenty of those available - we were told it would be brought to us. Our luggage was stored efficiently and was readily available when we came to collect en route to the station. Sandi and Mike Mayes Tip: Be sure to stay here!
