Secondly, to Kathmandu Durbar Square, the energy of the city was palpable. Surrounded by historic pagodas and palaces, I was particularly fascinated by the boudha, soyambhu monkey temple, home of living goddess, and the detailed artistry of Hanuman Dhoka Palace.I concluded my trip in Patan, a city renowned for its artistic heritage. Patan Durbar Square, with the stunning Krishna Mandir and its intricate stone carvings, left a lasting impression. The seamless blend of Hindu and Buddhist elements in the architecture was truly captivating. It is a pilgrimage site for Buddhists and one of Nepal's cultural heritages. The stupa inside the temple is one of the tallest in Nepal, reaching 36 meters in height. The stupa is conical in shape, and the eyes painted on the base are known as the 'Eyes of Wisdom,' seemingly possessing the ability to see through everything. The temple is a favorite destination for many locals and tourists. They say "Once a year, go somewhere you have never ben before", and so, we decided to travel Nepal. We took opportunity of the Chinese New Year long holiday. It was kinda culture shock for us when we arrived Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Everything seems to be not so systematic, locals keep following you around in the airport asking if you need help on the luggages, the streets are so dusty, children approaching cars when we stop at the traffic, and suddenly I felt home-sicked haha. But the journey just began! After we met our tour guide and checked in our hotel, we walked around dinner. We were told not to wander around too late at night, so we dare not wander too far from our hotel. As a Malaysian, we were kinda amused that there are actually no language barrier as most of the Nepalese worked in Malaysia before and they speak fluent Malaysian languages, and even some Chinese dialects. This makes us feels back home. Despite the messy streets and shops, it is not difficult to find foods in Kathmandu, there are plenty of choices from western to Japanese, Korean and of course not missing our Malaysian food! We spent 3 days exploring Kathmandu before heading to Pokhara. Kathmandu is a city full of cultures, and as we explore more, we began to fall in love with Nepal. As the town sprawled over the valley and surrounded by the majestic Himalayan mountains, the scenery is just incredibly breathtaking. One of my favourite stopover is Durbar Square, which was built in 1627. It was like one just step into the ancient town of few hundred years ago. It is really great the ancient buildings, temples and stupas are still well maintained. #mymymemories I recently flew with Himalayan Airlines from KLIA to Kathmandu, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The comfortable seats added to the overall enjoyment of the flight. The food options included vegan fried rice, which was a great choice for those looking for Halal food. The staff on board were friendly and attentive, making the journey more comfortable. While the food was okay, the warm service, comfortable seats, and friendly staff certainly made for a pleasant flight.

Gokyo Lakes is the most beautiful and peaceful trekking trail in the Everest region. This trek starts from a flight from Lukla and follows the Everest Base Camp trail for 3 days then explicit the trail to the Gokyo Lakes. This trek is much more peaceful and beautiful compared to the Everest Base Camp Trek. It leads us to the amazing viewpoint of Gokyo Ri and Gokyo Lakes. The morning view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuotse, Cho Oyu, and the Gokyo Lakes from the Gokyo ri are amazing! Nepal is very underrated country!

I visited Nepal for 2 weeks and it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. Nepalese are so kind and friendly, most people also speaks English so language barrier is not big issue. The country also has so much good food, especially vegetarian and halal food, so it is suitable for people with different dietary requirements. The weather in Nepal is also much cooler than neighbouring countries as it is surrounded by mountains. The view is always stunning no matter where you are. Here are some of my recommendations for travelling to Kathmandu: Things to do in Thamel: - Visit Asan Bazar (huge bazar selling various items, remember to try the lassi around the area, one of the best I have ever tried) - Visit Darbar Square, UNESCO world heritage, you need to get a ticket to visit, do check out the timing to see the living goddess (Kumari). She will show her face for around 30 seconds few times a day. - Try “TipTop Samosa”, must try the samosa here, cheap, fresh and delicious $0.35USD for each only - Visit Monkey Temple, one of the highest points in Kathleen. This temple, mainly built with red bricks, faces the Kumari Temple across the square. The second part of Plaza de la Doba starts from the statue of King Plata Bumara, which sits high on a pillar. As most of the historical buildings in this area were built under the initiative of King Bumara, later generations erected the statue as a memorial. Located to the left of the statue of King Malla is the Deogarh Treasures Temple, and on top of this temple building is the former king's private prayer room. Facing the statue of the king is the Jokhang Temple, a building constructed in the 17th century with a double sloping roof supported by angled pillars. On the back of the wall of the De Guta Leizhu Temple, there is a large-scale Karl Bairafo relief embedded in the corner of the building. Passing through the ancient ruins where the statue of King Mara is located, there is a series of buildings ahead. Among them, there is a statue standing on the side of the entrance of the Hanuman Monkey God Palace, which is the mount of Prince Rama in the epic "Ramayana".

#2023travelwish Kathmandu Durbar Square is located in the central of Kathmandu the capital of Nepal and it is the must where we have to visit. It takes time walk around and it would be nice if we can arrive before 4 PM. so we will have enough time to visit the palace/museum. Souvenirs price in this area are not really expensive, we can buy them here if we don’t have enough time for shopping. There are many surrounding restaurants, suggest to spend time here 2-3 hours. Next destination in my wish is another mysterious city… Machu Picchu….
