Off-the-beaten-path attraction recommendation| Shan-Shaan-Gan Guild Hall

|Shan-Shaan-Gan Guild Hall. 🌟Highlight features: The Shan-Shaan-Gan Guild Hall was built in the 41st year of the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty (1776), funded by wealthy merchants from Shanxi, Shaanxi, and Gansu provinces who lived in Kaifeng. It was built on the site of the mansion of Xu Da, a founding hero of the Ming Dynasty, and served as a place for merchants from the three provinces to conduct business, trade, and connect with fellow provincials during the Qing Dynasty. It has a history of over 200 years. The Guild Hall is arranged in a quadrangle layout, with the main building located on the central axis, from south to north, including a screen wall, a theater tower, a plaque tower, and a main hall. The auxiliary buildings are located on the east and west sides, including side doors, hanging flower doors, bell towers, drum towers, side rooms, and east-west cross courtyards. ✅Must experience: Bell tower, drum tower - still well preserved after wars and floods, making them precious. Moreover, these are the only similar ancient buildings in Kaifeng. Plaque tower - facing the door of the theater tower, the front of the plaque tower is inscribed with 'Great Righteousness Reaches the Sky'. The plaque tower of the Guild Hall was built to praise the character of Guan Yu. Theater tower - exquisitely carved in wood, brightly colored. There are stairs on both sides of the theater tower leading directly to the stage. This theater tower is the only ancient theater tower preserved in Kaifeng, which is very precious. 👍Most recommended: The wood carvings of the Guild Hall are unparalleled, with the highest artistic achievement, largest scale, most quantity, and richest themes in the Central Plains region. They include stories from the Three Kingdoms such as 'Ancient City Meeting', 'Saving A Dou in front of Changbanpo', and 'Liu Bei Visits Pang Tong', with concise composition and simple knife skills. The beams, rafters, sparrows, baffle boards, and hanging columns under the eaves of the main hall and side rooms of the Guild Hall are almost covered with wood carvings. For friends who like ancient buildings or are fond of photography, you must not miss this place when you come to Kaifeng. Shan-Shaan-Gan Guild Hall
