Visit Jinjiang Wulin during the Spring Festival

Visit the traditional village of Jinjiang Wulin in Quanzhou during the Spring Festival, a charming traditional village located in Jinjiang, Fujian, with a history of over 600 years. Surrounded by greenery, the village features red-brick ancient houses scattered in an orderly fashion, a treasure of Southern Fujian culture, known as the 'Overseas Chinese Architecture Museum'. Wulin ancient village was established during the Hongwu period of the Ming dynasty, developed during the Qing dynasty, and flourished in the late Qing and early Republic of China period. The village preserves more than two hundred century-old buildings, including Southern Fujian official-style mansions, 'Fanzi' buildings, and Sino-Western eclectic architecture, each carrying the story of an overseas Chinese. Here, one can admire the exquisitely beautiful stone and brick carvings and experience the characteristics of Southern Fujian's red-brick houses. Strolling on the stone-paved roads of Wulin, one can feel the ancient Southern Fujian atmosphere and listen to the stories of the hometown of overseas Chinese. Explore the century-old houses, appreciate the Sino-Western architectural style, and taste the profound overseas Chinese culture. We went during the Spring Festival when the crowd was larger, so I recommend visiting on a regular weekend for a self-driving tour. There's a free parking lot at the entrance, and a shuttle bus from the parking lot to the entrance of the scenic area, with a round-trip ticket price of 9 yuan per person. Dab on some makeup, change your outfit, and the photos will turn out great. You can take a photo like Zhao Liying, or try the Peranakan style, which is particularly flattering for ladies with good figures. It's also very beautiful, but I skipped this part during the Spring Festival because changing outfits and taking photos is too time-consuming. There are also quite a few coffee shops in the scenic area, as well as several restaurants. For those who like picnicking, bringing your own food is also an option. In fact, if you don't take photos in costume, half a day is enough to wander around and then head to the city to enjoy Southern Fujian cuisine. Quanzhou city is too crowded, so visiting Wulin to experience the ancient Southern Fujian architectural complex is a good choice.
