Traditional Chinese Wedding Memorabilia

If you are new to HK and new to the Chinese culture, the HK Museum of History is always the best place to have a quick glimpse. Though ‘The Hong Kong Story' permanent exhibition is still under renovation, there is mini exhibition at 1/F Main Lobby, Hong Kong Museum of History. The last one was “Joyous Destiny: A Selection of Wedding Memorabilia from the Museum's Collections”. Marriage is considered as one of the big missions in a traditional Chinese family. The exhibits were all donations by the public. Videos of wedding scenes, exhibits of wedding sedan chair, wedding costumes, marriage documents, bride’s dowry and historical photos were shown.
