Enshi Hefeng Pingshan Grand Canyon

The Pingshan Grand Canyon is located in Hefeng County, Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Hubei Province, and is a natural wonder. It is about 18 kilometers long, formed during the Quaternary glacial period, with a unique topography. The difference in elevation between the peaks and the bottom of the river valley exceeds 1000 meters, creating rare canyon and earth fissure scenery. It is known as 'China's Semporna' and has the nickname 'Oriental Noah's Ark'. Inside the canyon, streams wind around, and steep cliffs stand tall. The scenery is strange, dangerous, and beautiful, as if sailing among the verdant mountains in the heart of Wuling with thousands of hectares of azure waves. In addition, Pingshan Grand Canyon also has a rich historical and cultural heritage. It was the paradise of the Rongmei Tusi, with the grand scale of the Tusi chieftain's residence being well-known far and wide. At the same time, it was also an important base for the Red Army on the border of Hunan and Hubei, leaving behind the imprint of red culture.
