Thu Le Zoo

#vietnamtrip Compared to many zoos we've visited the animals are in small inadequate enclosures. However, we knew not to expect a western-type zoo with lots of resources. We spoke to an (English) animal welfare officer we met who was doing an inspection and heard that they are trying to gradually improve things, which is positive. We did see some interesting animals, including elephants, tigers, asiatic bears, porcupines, monkeys and exotic birds, although there are no snakes or other reptiles. There are also lots of fairground type rides, really for under sixes. Cost 10,000 dong pp.
