The Hungry Backpacker

Hangzhou | The starting point of tea history, come and see with me

Soon to bloom, the cherry blossoms at Hangzhou Tea Expo are even more beautiful than those in Kyoto❗||In just over 10 days, the cherry blossom season in Hangzhou will arrive, Compared to the crowded crowds at Prince Bay, Hangzhou's niche museums | Explore the millennium tea culture||There are two China Tea Museums in Hangzhou, one at Shuangfeng and one at Longjing. Due to limited time, I only visited the Shuangfeng Museum, here are some personal insights to share with you: · 🎫Ticket: Free (advance reservation required) 📍Location: No. 88 Longjing Road, Hangzhou 🚗Transport: Take bus 27, 87, or 180 to reach the Shuangfeng Museum area · ✅Museum Guide: There is a reception desk at the entrance, where you can get a guidebook. The museum includes 8 attractions: 1⃣️Chinese Tea Culture Exhibition: The history of tea, the production process, types of tea and samples... All aspects of tea culture are introduced here. 2⃣️West Lake Longjing Tea Special Exhibition: Tells the thousand-year history of Longjing tea. 3⃣️Cultural and Creative Space: Located on the second floor of the exhibition hall, featuring various tea-themed cultural and creative products. 4⃣️Special Exhibition of Tea Utensils Donated by the Society: You can see a variety of tea utensils. 5⃣️Temporary Exhibition Hall: When I visited, it was displaying Asian tea culture, including tea utensils, history, etc., from many Asian countries. 6⃣️International Cultural Exchange Center: Temporarily closed. 7⃣️Qiwan Residence (Huizhou Tea House Experience): Restores the Huizhou tea house, tasting for a fee. 8⃣️Yuchuan Tower (Sichuan Tea Customs Experience): Restores the Sichuan tea house, tasting for a fee. 9⃣️Xincha Pavilion: Temporarily closed. 🔟Jiamuyuan: Cultivates more than a hundred varieties and strains of tea trees, including different infusions, leaf shapes, growth periods, and suitability for processing. ✅Experience Insights: -People are not too many, it is a relatively niche museum, friends interested in tea culture can come and take a look. -The environment is very quiet and comfortable, integrating the realm of tea culture into the surroundings, leisurely and content. -The museum has a huge Pu'er tea brick, really impressive! -It takes about 2-3 hours to visit, if time allows, it is recommended to visit the nearby Longjing Museum ✅Stamp Collection: You can get a stamp at the reception desk at the entrance, the staff was envious of my stamp book, she borrowed it and looked at it for a long time. She also enthusiastically told me where else I could get stamps, very grateful, but I'm not that keen on collecting stamps, just wanted to keep one as a souvenir, so I didn't go to the stamping place separately, interested friends can ask more I prefer the niche cherry blossom forest at the Tea Museum, Suitable for people like me to visit and take photos, The location is near West Lake, accessible by bus. - 📍Address: China Tea Museum Shuangfeng Museum Area (Note: Not the Longjing Museum Area) ⏱️Opening Hours: 9:00~16:30 Closed on Tuesdays ✔️How to Reserve: Wuyou West Lake App - Online Reservation - Venue Reservation - China Tea Museum Shuangfeng Museum Area ⏱️Visit Duration: One to two hours 🚗Self-driving Navigation: Parking lot of China Tea Museum Shuangfeng Museum Area 🚌Bus Arrival: "Shuangfeng Station", get off and walk for about 5 minutes, the specific location of the cherry blossom forest is next to the main building of the Tea Museum. - 📖Tips 1️⃣The blooming period is roughly from early March to mid-March, about two weeks. 2️⃣Arriving after 3:30 pm, there will be fewer tourists, and you can take photos until 5 pm. 3️⃣Along the way, you can also see the beautiful snow willow flower "waterfall". 4️⃣It is also very convenient to take a taxi, easy to hail.
