Hangzhou's Nanshan Road corresponds to Beishan Road, forming a circle around West Lake. The southern part of West Lake near the mountains is called Nanshan Road, and the northern part near Baojishi Mountain is called Beishan Road. During the Southern Song Dynasty, the capital was set in Lin'an (now Hangzhou city), and the palace was set up in Fenghuang Mountain and Wansongling, moving the seat of Lin'an Prefecture to the side of 'Qingbo Gate'. Nanshan Road also has four of the ten scenic spots of West Lake, Leifeng Sunset (Leifeng Tower), Nanping Evening Bell (Jingci Temple), Liulang Wenying (Park), and Qianci Biaozhong (Qianwang Temple). A road full of greenery, a perfect blend of city and scenic area. The road is lined with towering plane trees, interspersed with various art galleries and celebrity memorial halls.
