Dachaidan Emerald Lake

Dachaidan Emerald Lake is located within the territory of Dachaidan Town, Dachaidan Administrative Region, Haixi Mongol and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It is a unique salt lake landscape of Dachaidan, belonging to the subtype of magnesium sulfate salt lakes, covering an area of 15 square kilometers. The salt lake is composed of halides (water) and minerals (crystals) formed after the resource development of the mining area. The Emerald Lake is a magnesium sulfate subtype salt lake, originally the mining area of the chemical plant's salt lake mining team, and is the third largest artificial lake in Haixi Prefecture. Due to the high salt content in the lake water, it does not freeze in all seasons. The lake is rich in various elements such as potassium, magnesium, lithium, etc., with different concentrations, hence it displays different colors. The Emerald Lake is clear and transparent, and the salt layer at the bottom of the lake can be clearly seen through the water surface. The inner layer of the Emerald Lake is blue-green, while the outer layer is milky blue, and the salt layer at the bottom of the lake can be clearly seen through the water surface.
