Step into the Guilin Presidential Palace and approach the legendary life of 'youth in the military, integrity in later years

' Li Zongren's official residence is located on the south bank of Shan Lake in Guilin, completed in 1948, featuring a blend of Chinese and Western architecture, and has been listed as a national key cultural heritage site. Li Zongren was the leader of the 'Wolf Soldiers' of the New Guangxi Clique, a modern military man with the idea of saving the nation. He spent his life in the military, never flinching in battle. From protecting the country, upholding the law, unifying Guangxi to the Northern Expedition, it took him only 13 years to rise from a military academy student to the commander-in-chief of the Fourth Group Army of the National Revolutionary Army, becoming a famous general of the Northern Expedition who achieved remarkable feats. In July 1925, Li Zongren, in alliance with Bai Chongxi, unified Guangxi and, known for his benevolence, implemented the 'Three Self' and 'Three Accommodation' policies, after which Guangxi showed a new atmosphere and was hailed as a 'model province.' In March 1938, he commanded the Battle of Xuzhou and achieved a great victory at Taierzhuang. In the late autumn of 1938, Li Zongren led his troops to defend the Old Hekou and advocated the establishment of the Old Hekou Civilian Hospital. Li Zongren was open and kind-hearted towards people, but he could not guard against the trap of 'Shangchunshan.' At the inauguration ceremony in 1948, Chiang Kai-shek wore a long gown himself and tricked Li Zongren into wearing a military uniform, making him look exactly like a guard. In 1965, Li Zongren, prioritizing the interests of the nation and the people, put aside personal gains and losses, and resolutely returned to his motherland, maintaining his integrity in his later years. The former aide-de-camp building is now a Li Zongren cultural relics exhibition room. The official residence recently hosted the De Neighbors Boutique Exhibition, the Guangxi Aviation Four Martyrs Exhibition sacrificed in the Taierzhuang victory, the He Xin Loyalty to the Country Family Tradition Exhibition, the Guangxi Student Army Photo Exhibition, and more, inspiring reflections on the past and progress for the future. In the era of the War of Resistance against Japan, where 'every inch of land was soaked with blood, and a hundred thousand youths formed an army,' countless Chinese sons and daughters heroically interpreted with their precious lives: 'Though there are millions, I shall go!' the grand spirit of the army. The Guangxi Student Army took up pens and joined the military, tempering their youth in the flames of war, acting in unison with the times and sharing the same fate. The three sessions of the Guangxi Student Army, totaling over 5,000 people, organized and mobilized the public, actively supporting the front lines of the resistance, becoming a glorious banner for the youth of the war. They helped establish various mass organizations such as enemy resistance associations, support groups, mass singing teams, children's drama troupes, and youth reading clubs. They defended the dignity of the Chinese nation with their lives.
