Dillenburg Castle, the museum is closed for the winter

Dillenburg Castle was built in 1130 and was destroyed in the Seven Years' War in 1760. William I was born here in 1533. To commemorate him, the Wilhelmsturm was constructed in Dillenburg from 1872 to 1875. It houses the Oranien-Nassauisches Museum, which is dedicated to linking the Nassau-Dillenburg dynasty with the Dutch royal family.
