Dhaka, Bangladesh: Feel the Passion in the Chaos

Hey guys! 👋 I went on a business trip to Bangladesh recently and stayed in Dhaka for a week. It was a unique experience, and I want to share it with you! 😎 The first thing I noticed when I arrived was how crowded it was. I only saw one traffic light 🚥 in the whole city. Cars, motorcycles, rickshaws, and even horse-drawn carriages all fought for space on the road. It could take an hour to travel just 1 km. It was crazy! 😂 📄 Visas & Currency Exchange We got business visas, which made it easy to get through customs. We just had to fill out an arrival card. If you get a visa on arrival, you'll need an invitation letter and USD 51, and you'll have to wait in line. I exchanged money with a Chinese colleague at a rate of 17.5. I also exchanged money at a Chinese supermarket and a currency exchange on the street at a rate of 17.2. This was cheaper than using a credit card, so if you plan to buy expensive items like pearls, I recommend exchanging money in advance. 💰 🏨 Accommodation Dhaka has some international hotel chains, like IHG and Marriott. There's an InterContinental near the old town, close to Dhaka University and the Bangladesh National Museum, which is very convenient. The Westin and Crowne Plaza are in Gulshan, the center of the new town, but the hotels are a bit old. I highly recommend the Renaissance near the new town. It has a rooftop infinity pool, which is super fancy! 🤩 A Sheraton is also opening soon.
