The filming location of the movie 'Lost in Thailand' - Wat Buppharam

Many years ago, the movie 'Lost in Thailand' made this Wat Buppharam, also known as the Flower Palace Temple, famous overnight. Travelers would think of visiting it, and although I didn't plan to go there specifically, I happened to pass by on my way to the Sunday night market. It seems I was fated to visit, so I decided to take a look. As soon as I stepped through the gates, I was immediately surprised to see a 'Donald Duck' statue on the lawn in front of the temple hall! Yes, the very one from the American cartoons. Is Buddhist culture so open and understanding? It's hard to imagine placing a Mickey Mouse in Beijing's Yonghe Temple without the lamas rushing out to chase me , to be honest, I can hardly remember the plot of the movie, but after walking around the temple, I still have to admire the superb skills of the architects at that time, especially an ancient pagoda built in a Burmese style. Although it's somewhat dilapidated, its majesty remains. Since it was already evening and most of the tourists had left, the tranquility of the temple was broken by a few young monks draped in yellow robes. As they watered the ancient trees, they laughed and frolicked, and I had a sudden realization. Why impose so many rules and restrictions on life? Just like those young monks, though they have entered the Buddhist order, they naturally do not adhere to any one form. Perhaps this is the true essence of Buddhism.
