In Chengdu|Seek a quiet place for a moment of tranquility. Known as the 'First Taoist Temple in Western Sichuan', Qingyang Palace is located in the central area of Chengdu. It is both a long-standing Taoist temple and a classical garden. Legend has it that Qingyang Palace was first built during the Zhou Dynasty, initially named Qingyang Si, a market for selling cattle and sheep. Later, as Taoism gradually rose in Sichuan, a Taoist temple was built here at some unknown time. By the end of the Tang Dynasty, Emperor Xizong of Tang fled to Sichuan to avoid war, and set up his palace in the Taoist temple, hence the temple became a 'palace temple', and the name of Qingyang Palace began to spread. Over the long years, many buildings were destroyed by war, until the Qing Dynasty Kangxi years, the palace was gradually rebuilt, and Qingyang Palace became an important Taoist temple in Chengdu and even the entire southwestern region. The main buildings of Qingyang Palace are arranged along the central axis, from south to north are the mountain gate, Lingzu Hall, Hunyuan Hall, Bagua Pavilion, Sanqing Hall, Doumu Hall, Jade Emperor Hall and Tangwang Pavilion.
