Lychnostatis Museum - Greece

In the suburbs of Hersonissos, not far from Malia, there is one of the most interesting museums in Crete - Lychnostatis. This is a whole ethnographic complex in the open air. Fairy-tale buildings with a medieval mill are clearly visible from the road and, of course, attract the attention of tourists. The main feature of the museum is that it is not an object created by the decision of the Ministry of Culture, but appeared thanks to the enthusiasm of the collector. Lychnostatis Museum is open daily from 09:00 to 14:00, except Saturday (closed). In the period from November 1 to March 31, a preliminary agreement is required to visit the museum.
