Bangkok's Affordable Neighborhood Eatery, Authentic Thai Cuisine! Porwa Northern Thai Cuisine.
In the Phaya Thai neighborhood of Bangkok, there's a small restaurant that serves incredibly authentic and delicious Thai food! Porwa Northern Thai Cuisine is a local eatery that specializes in Thai dishes. It may not have extravagant decor, but it's simple, bright, and clean. The dining environment is quite nice, possibly because it's located in a more upscale, gated community.
The menu is in Thai, but fortunately, there are pictures, so ordering is not a problem. Since I was dining alone and couldn't order much, I decided to go with the classic Thai basil pork and Thai-style fried chicken wings!
The flavors at this neighborhood eatery seem to be milder. The basil pork was less spicy and more savory, paired with a half-cooked egg and fragrant jasmine rice, it was quite tasty. The fried chicken wings had a lemongrass aroma, crispy skin, tender meat, and were very juicy!
I noticed the pineapple fried rice at the next table looked good, but I couldn't eat too much alone, so I finished with a Sprite! When I got the bill, I found that this neighborhood eatery was really affordable, costing less than 300 baht in total. What a deal!
