#eatlikealocal 📍Baguio City, Province of Benguet Baguio is a wonderful paradise. For me it's the best destination in the Philippines. For a tropical country, we can enjoy the sun all year round yet admittedly, it gets scorching hot typically in the 'summer', or terminologically correct - hot season (during late March to May). Baguio is located in northern Luzon, with significant elevation above sea level making it a cooler place relatively than the rest of the places in the Philippines. Indeed it bagged the name "Summer Capital of the Philippines". While foreigners flock the white, sandy beaches for that sun tan, people like me prefer getting somewhere cooler like Baguio. Since its way cooler up there thus strawberries are grown. (La Trinidad, the capital of Benguet, a city in proximity or rather next to Baguio has large plantation of strawberries). However Baguio has been associated more with strawberries. Locals have made use of such products hence deriving to making local desserts made out of strawberries! Strawberries are made into strawberry flavored 'dirty' ice cream, strawberry taho, soya or tofu-based dessert with caramelized sugar, this is usually seen peddled by vendors every morning, especially (Baguio is the only place where you can find OG, real one). Strawberries are also made into jams and the likes. If you wanna to experience Baguio, try their classic strawberry taho and ice creams. You can spot vendors selling such easily around the city. #voyagevibes
