Anji is truly a very comfortable and suitable place for seclusion. Banyan Tree Anji The white walls and black tiles of Banyan Tree Anji are hidden deep in the bamboo forests of Anji's Lingfeng. In the distance, there is the Peach Blossom Island surrounded by water on three sides, and the Swallow Dock built against the mountain. Once you delve into it, you will be attracted by its unique 'hybrid feeling'. The Zhejiang-style garden's technique of embracing the mountains and lakes, the Suzhou-style garden's flying eaves and cool pavilions, and the Hui-style architecture's 'Four Waters Return to the Hall' seamlessly blend together here without a trace. Ingenious and rustic, neat and natural, a delicate balance is sought between the mountains and waters. Every year, I choose to travel to Anji, which is less than a 3-hour drive away. Having visited several Banyan Tree resorts, Anji remains one of my favorites, mainly because I really like its infinity pool. The service is much better than other hotels, contrary to what some online reviews might suggest, and it feels like it's improving. This time I booked a lake-view room, which felt more open than a garden-view room, probably because I like water, which made me feel particularly relaxed. Sitting on the balcony snacking on some treats, I felt I could daydream for a long time. However, a garden-view is also a great choice; facing the garden, one can naturally find tranquility. After all, the landscape design of Banyan Tree Anji is well-measured and deeply resonates with my preferences. Regarding dining, compared to the Thai restaurant, I prefer the taste of the Chinese restaurant, which seems to have more of the local flavor, especially the recommended local specialty fish head stew. There were many choices for breakfast, and they were all beautifully presented. The overall experience was very good, even the shuttle concierge was great at making conversation. Although it was with a sales intent, it was cute and comfortable. It's a great destination for family trips.
