Gotemba travel guide and discussion

Imagine strolling along stylish open-air streets, popping into your favorite shops, finding great deals—all while the majestic Mount Fuji looms on the horizon. Welcome to Gotemba Premium Outlets! 🛍️🇯🇵 This is one of the largest outlet malls in Japan, with approximately 290 stores offering clothing, shoes, accessories, and home goods. Popular brands include Gucci, Prada, Coach, Burberry, Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Onitsuka Tiger, The North Face, and Calvin Klein. Product selection and store availability are subject to change. 👜👟 The mall is divided into several zones connected by bridges, making a stroll a mini-adventure. If the weather is good, Mount Fuji will make a stunning backdrop for photos. 📸 The most convenient way to get there from Tokyo is by direct bus from Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal: the journey takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes, and a one-way ticket for an adult costs about 2,000 yen. You can also take the train to JR Gotemba Station, and from there, take the free shuttle to the outlet. 🚌🚆 Plan to spend a few hours here—or even a whole day. Wear comfortable shoes, explore the shops you're interested in beforehand, and allow time for lunch and rest. 👟🍜 Gotemba Premium Outlets offers more than just shopping—it also offers beautiful views, a Japanese atmosphere, and the chance to take home something special. Shop with a view of Mt. Fuji 🛍️ and enjoy local gourmet eats! When visiting Japan from abroad, why not add a day at "Gotemba Premium Outlets" to your itinerary along with classic spots like Tokyo and Kyoto? This is one of Japan’s leading large-scale shopping resorts, home to 290 outlet stores. Set on vast grounds overlooking the World Heritage site, Mt. Fuji, the outlet features a wide variety of shops, including fashion, sports, outdoor gear, bags, and shoes. With plenty of restaurants and cafes, you can enjoy delicious food as much as the shopping 🍴 🚍 Easy Day Trip from Tokyo! One of the best things for international travelers is the convenient access. There are direct highway buses from major hubs like Tokyo Station and Shinjuku Station, taking you straight there without any transfers. By train, you can head to Gotemba Station and take a shuttle bus to the outlets. If you're renting a car, it’s about a 1.5 to 2-hour drive from Tokyo via the expressway, making it a perfect addition to a day trip combined with Mt. Fuji or Hakone. Instead of just hitting the usual tourist spots, spending a day enjoying some retail therapy is highly recommended 😊 🌧️ A Hidden Gem Even on Rainy Days! Actually, it was raining on the day we visited ☔️. We unfortunately had to give up on seeing the clear view of Mt. Fuji. However, as we walked along the paths, mist began rising from the base of the mountain, wrapping the surrounding peaks in a dreamlike, ethereal shroud. It was a mystical scene that you can only experience on a rainy day—completely different from the usual sunny view of Fuji. 🗻✨ We thought the rain was a letdown, but we were so glad to encounter such a breathtaking sight! 🍴 It’s Not Just About the Shopping! Take your time wandering through the massive grounds, browsing shops, and taking breaks at various cafes and restaurants. A major highlight is being able to enjoy Japanese gourmet food alongside your shopping spree. We spent our day fully enjoying both the deals and the food. 👟 Our Goal: Hiking Gear Since we were looking for hiking equipment this time, we spent most of our time in the East Zone. We successfully scored the outdoor shoes we were looking for! 👟✨ Getting what we wanted at a great price made the shopping experience even better. Even though we couldn't see Mt. Fuji due to the rain, the mystical scenery, shopping, and food made it a perfectly satisfying day for us 😊 🍁 Looking Forward to Mt. Fuji in Autumn and Winter! As we head into autumn and winter, the air becomes crisper and clearer. This means your chances of seeing a stunning, clear view of Mt. Fuji increase significantly 🗻 Imagine shopping under a clear blue sky while gazing at the snow-capped peak of Mt. Fuji... how wonderful is that? ⭐ Why We Recommend This to International Travelers: 🗻 Prime location with views of Mt. Fuji 🛍️ Shopping at 290 different stores 🍴 A wide variety of gourmet food and cafes 🚍 Accessible via direct highway buses from Tokyo ♨️ Easy to combine with Mt. Fuji and Hakone sightseeing 🍁 High chance of clear Fuji views in Autumn and Winter Don't just "go to see Mt. Fuji"—experience it while enjoying shopping and great food. We highly recommend adding this "+1 day" to your Japan travel plans 🇯🇵✨ 📍 Gotemba Premium Outlets 1312 Fukasawa, Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture Sightseeing Sale

When searching for a hotel in Gotemba where you can "see Mt. Fuji as soon as you open the window," Rembrandt Premium Fuji Gotemba is one of the most frequent names to pop up. Perched on a plateau 550 meters above sea level, it bills itself as a Japanese-style hot spring retreat, featuring open-air baths facing Mt. Fuji and Japanese-French fusion dinners supervised by renowned chefs. It sounds like the perfect Mt. Fuji pilgrimage, right? After staying there, I can confirm the views don't lie, but there are a few "quirks" you should understand before booking. Location and Transport: Best for Drivers, a Bit Tough Without a Car The hotel's greatest strength and weakness are the same: its mountain location. There’s a free shuttle from the "Otome Exit" of JR Gotemba Station, running about five round trips a day with a 10-minute travel time. If you're driving, it’s about 10 minutes from the Tomei Gotemba Interchange, and the 32 parking spaces are free and don’t require a reservation. It's also just a 6- to 10-minute drive to the Gotemba Premium Outlets, making it super convenient for shoppers. The catch is the limited shuttle schedule. If you plan to stay out late near the station or want a late-night snack run, you'll feel very restricted without a car. Some guests have noted that "transportation is difficult without a car," suggesting that this hotel is much easier to enjoy if your trip is primarily self-drive. Rooms and Views: A Mt. Fuji View Room is the Only Real Way to Go The hotel has 49 guest rooms ranging from standard twins and Japanese-Western styles to special rooms with private open-air baths. I strongly recommend booking a "Mt. Fuji View Room" directly—it's the primary reason this hotel exists. Guest reviews are unanimous: when the weather is clear, drawing the curtains reveals the full majesty of Mt. Fuji. The view from the room balcony is truly captivating. One traveler who chose a Japanese-style room described the "Fuji-facing Japanese room as amazing, large, spacious, and clean," offering plenty of space for families. The lobby also offers a direct view of the mountain, so you’re never far from a scenic spot. However, in all honesty, the room hardware feels dated. Some guests pointed out that while booking platforms claim the hotel "opened in 2019," it actually dates back to 1993, creating a gap in expectations. While the rooms are kept clean, the decor reflects the simple style of the early 90s. There are few power outlets, which can be inconvenient for modern travelers needing to charge phones, watches, and cameras at once. If you’re looking for a brand-new, design-forward experience, you might be slightly disappointed; but if your focus is the Mt. Fuji view outside that window, the simplicity of the room is easily forgiven. Hot Springs: Mt. Fuji from the Open-Air Bath is the Trip’s Highlight The hot springs are the hotel's most undisputed highlight. The public bath is located on the 4th floor, featuring open-air baths in both marble and rock styles. The water is a low-tonicity, slightly alkaline simple spring, said to help with joint pain and fatigue recovery. The view from the open-air bath is "superb," allowing you to see from the base to the peak of Mt. Fuji during the day. On clear days, you can soak while staring directly at the mountain. At night, the view shifts to the city lights of Gotemba. One guest described the view from the open-air bath as a "lifelong memory." The women's section has one indoor and two outdoor pools; it’s not huge, but it’s rarely crowded on weekdays, often feeling like a "private bath." The hot springs are open until midnight, which is a blessing for late arrivals—one guest who checked in at 11 PM still managed to catch a soak. Breakfast is a Western-style set menu rather than a buffet, and you need to reserve a time. The dishes are mostly American-style breakfast staples and are quite filling. Guests have mentioned that "breakfast is very rich and delicious, and you can enjoy it while watching Mt. Fuji." There is also a reading area on the restaurant floor with a mountain view and a selection of manga, where one guest noted they could "literally spend all day." Service and Staff: Japanese Finesse, Though Occasionally Short-Staffed at Night Service is one of the highest-rated categories. One guest mentioned that after informing the staff of a child's food allergy, the restaurant specially modified the menu—an impressive level of care. Some guests have also been proactively upgraded to Mt. Fuji view rooms, with staff offering to take commemorative photos. However, there are a few situations to watch for. One guest checking in late at 11 PM found that the futons in their Japanese-style room weren't laid out. With only one person on duty at the front desk, they were asked to set up their own beds—a bit of a letdown after a full day of driving. Another guest experienced a power trip in the middle of the night where all the lights turned on and couldn't be switched off. These are likely isolated incidents, but they suggest room for improvement in nighttime staffing and maintenance. Facilities and Maintenance: Signs of Age are Hard to Hide Beyond the spa and restaurant, the hotel offers a bar (with night views), tennis courts, and table tennis. The lobby provides free coffee and apple juice, and the amenities are from reputable brands. Still, the fact that it's an older property is unavoidable. One guest noted the hotel "feels a bit old," and while the exterior design is unique, the internal maintenance needs more attention. A review on Trip.com bluntly called it an "old hotel with few facilities or services." While harsh, it reflects the feelings of some travelers. If you are sensitive to the age of a building, this is something to consider. Value and Conclusion In terms of value, Rembrandt Premium Fuji Gotemba holds a high score of 9.2/10 on Trip.com with hundreds of positive reviews. With competitive pricing, the combination of a "Mt. Fuji view + hot spring + French dinner" is hard to beat in this area. Its core value is clear: a night with Mt. Fuji at a reasonable price. Just be prepared to accept that the rooms aren't new, transportation requires a car or strict adherence to shuttle times, and there might be occasional hardware hiccups. If your expectation is to "enjoy Mt. Fuji from your room and the open-air bath while eating a quality meal," you’ll leave satisfied. If you expect a brand-new resort, you might feel that the "scenery is invincible, but the hardware can't keep up." In short: Come for Mt. Fuji, and don't sweat the rest too much.

Visiting Mount Fuji is a highlight of any trip to Japan. Today, I’m sharing a route through the charming town of Gotemba to experience Fuji without the tourist crowds! This route is especially convenient for those traveling between Tokyo and Osaka: Gotemba is located at the southeastern foot of Fuji, in Shizuoka Prefecture. The main highlight of the route is Sakura Park. On a small hill there is a gazebo where you can sit, have a snack, and admire the view of Fuji. During cherry blossom season, the park is filled with the pink of sakura. You’ll mostly meet local residents here, and if you visit on a weekday during work hours, the chance of seeing even a small crowd is minimal. You can take a bus or taxi from Gotemba Station to the park. For those who love walking, the pedestrian route is ideal: the distance is just over 5 km. The mountain majestically looms ahead the entire way. Be sure to check the mountain’s visibility Gotemba is a great option for those who want to see Fuji in a calmer, more authentic atmosphere: without large tour groups, queues, or the feeling that you’re on a standard excursion.

1⃣️ Kawaguchi Asama Shrine worship hall To capture photos like the first two of Kawaguchi Asama Shrine’s worship hall, you need the right timing, location, people, and a bit of luck! First, the weather conditions must be just right. There needs to be enough snow the day before, and the next day must be clear to get this kind of view. Once the weather clears, you still have to hike from the base of the mountain up to the worship hall. Because of heavy snow, even taxis can only take you halfway up the mountain, so you’ll need to walk the rest of the way. If you manage all that, congratulations—the view will absolutely take your breath away! The first photo shows a group of Russian ladies climbing the mountain together, with a model in bright red clothing for a striking contrast. The second photo was taken with a tripod and remote control. Also, taking photos with a phone is free, but if you use a DSLR, you need to buy a photography permit. 🚌 Take the bus from Kawaguchi Lake toward Kofu, get off at Kawaguchi Lake Post Office, then walk to the shrine. 2⃣️ Miyabashi Bridge near Oshino Hakkai Asama Shrine From late April to early May (depending on the year’s temperature), you can capture breathtaking scenes of the small bridge, flowing water, cherry blossoms, and Mount Fuji. You can skip other spots, but this one is definitely worth a visit! Walk along the Shinmeisho River, and the cherry blossoms on both sides are truly stunning. 🚌 From Fuji Station, take the bus toward Gotemba and get off at Miyabashi Bridge stop. 3⃣️ Fuji Department Store rooftop Almost 99.9% of tourists don’t know about this spot. Right next to Fuji Station is the Fuji Department Store Q-STA, which has an observation deck on the top floor. It’s free to enter, and you can take the elevator up early in the morning. The view here offers an unobstructed panorama of Mount Fuji with nothing blocking either side. 🚌 Get off at Fuji Station and head to the nearby Q-STA. 4⃣️ Oishi Park Many people know this spot, but I highly recommend visiting during the autumn foliage season. Early November is the most beautiful time. The red ground cover contrasts beautifully with the blue and white of Mount Fuji. Nearby is a stunning maple leaf corridor—you won’t get enough of photographing it. 🚌 Take the Fuji Lake Excursion Bus Red Line from Kawaguchi Lake to the final stop at the Nature Life Center. 5⃣️ Mount Fuji panoramic ropeway It’s a shame to visit Kawaguchi Lake without taking this ropeway! The views from the top are truly beautiful, and you can capture pine trees alongside Mount Fuji. 🚌 It’s a 10-minute walk from Kawaguchi Lake Station or take the Red Line excursion bus to the ropeway stop. 6⃣️ Fuji Shibazakura Festival This spot is probably well known among Chinese travelers! Although famous, many haven’t been. From late April to late May, a red carpet of moss phlox covers the foot of Mount Fuji. The first week of May is the best time to see the flowers in full bloom. But since it overlaps with Japan’s Golden Week, be prepared for traffic jams! 🚌 Take a direct bus from Kawaguchi Lake to the Fuji Shibazakura Festival site. 7⃣️ Kawaguchi Lake Station Lately, many people have been heading to Lawson for photos—I’m not sure why. Kawaguchi Lake Station is actually very beautiful too! But you need to visit early in the morning. If you happen to stay near Kawaguchi Lake Station, get up early to capture the station and Mount Fuji without any crowds.

If your budget allows, you absolutely must experience the hotel's hot spring♨️—you definitely won't regret it! 📌 Booking tips: Peak seasons get fully booked super fast🔥, so I recommend booking 2-3 months in advance📅. Ask about the check-out policy and room view arrangements when booking for extra peace of mind😌!

Unveiling the best brands across three major zones, secret discount tips, and unbeatable Mt. Fuji photo spots! If you're traveling independently to Tokyo or Kawaguchiko and can only pick one outlet to visit, it absolutely, unequivocally must be **"Gotemba Premium Outlets"**! Not only is this Japan's largest outlet mall with the most comprehensive brand selection, but the craziest part is that it sits right at the foot of Mount Fuji. Imagine carrying bags full of your shopping haul and looking up to see the breathtaking, massive Mount Fuji right in front of you. You really have to experience this ultimate bliss of combining a vacation with a shopping spree for yourself! 🛍️ How to navigate the three major zones? Blogger's exclusive "shopping highlights" Gotemba Outlet is incredibly huge (divided into the West Zone, East Zone, and the newly opened Hill Side). Without doing your homework, you'll end up walking your legs off and still not find the stores you want. Here's a breakdown of the best shopping highlights to help you out: 1. The most complete lineup of top-tier Western luxury brands (West Zone / East Zone) The luxury lineup here is arguably the strongest in all of Japan, featuring GUCCI, PRADA, BURBERRY, CELINE, LOEWE, and more. Plus, the discounts are genuinely amazing. Aside from regular outlet prices, during seasonal sales or by presenting a digital tourist coupon, you can sometimes snag incredible 30% to 50% off deals—buying just one bag can easily save you enough to cover your flight! 2. A paradise for trendy sports and Japanese fashion brands (Hill Side) The layout of the new Hill Side zone is ultra-modern and so easy to shop in! It houses major outdoor and sports brands like Nike, Adidas, The North Face, and Arc'teryx. It's also a great place for treasure hunting among Japanese brands like BEAMS and UNITED ARROWS, offering top-notch tailoring and quality for less than half the price of retail stores in Taiwan! 3. Photography Holy Land: Bridge of Dreams (Bridge of Hope) The bridge connecting the East and West zones offers the perfect classic vantage point for capturing "Mt. Fuji + European-style mall." On a clear day, walking on the bridge gives you a view of the snow-capped Mt. Fuji. You won't even need a filter; any casual snap will result in a stunning photo that will blow up your social media feed! 💡 Blogger's "Shopping Hacks" 1. First thing upon entry: Scan the QR Code for coupons! Head to the Welcome Center or simply scan the QR codes on the signs around the mall. By presenting your passport, you can download a Web Coupon. Many brands offer an extra 5% to 10% off on top of tax-free prices—you'd be missing out big time if you don't get it. 2. Transportation planning: Direct buses are the most hassle-free There are "direct highway buses" from Tokyo Station, Shinjuku, Shibuya, or Kawaguchiko. It's highly recommended to book your round-trip tickets online in advance. After your shopping spree, you can toss all your bags into the luggage compartment and sleep all the way back to the city, without the hassle of dragging your haul through train transfers! 3. Avoid peak hours for lunch The Food Court here gets absolutely packed between 12:00 PM and 1:30 PM. It's best to eat early before 11:30 AM or after 2:00 PM so you don't waste precious shopping time. 📍 Attraction Info Japanese Name: 御殿場プレミアム・アウトレット Address: 1312 Fukasawa, Gotemba City, Shizuoka Prefecture Business Hours: March - November 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM

It also boasts one of the most beautiful views of any outlet in Japan, offering a stunning, unobstructed view of Mount Fuji on a clear day. The most convenient way to get there from Tokyo is by taking a direct highway bus from Shinjuku Station, which takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Alternatively, you can take a JR train to Gotemba Station and hop on the free shuttle bus for about a 15-minute ride. Standard opening hours are 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, though these may vary during holidays and festivals, so it's best to check before your trip. Popular brands that tourists love to check out include Nike, Adidas, New Balance, Onitsuka Tiger, Coach, Michael Kors, Polo Ralph Lauren, The North Face, Columbia, and Le Creuset. For dining, we recommend Godiva Café, Shake Shack, Afuri Ramen, Uobei Sushi, and the Japanese restaurants in the Hillside zone, where you can enjoy your meal with a scenic view of Mount Fuji. If you have a full day, you can easily combine your shopping trip with a visit to Kawaguchiko or Hakone. Leave Tokyo in the morning, shop until the afternoon, and head back to the city by evening. This is one of the most popular one-day trip itineraries. The estimated round-trip travel budget is around 2,000 to 4,000 THB per person, depending on your transportation method and travel season.

Gotemba was the perfect stopover for us between Osaka and Tokyo. We stopped in for the famous outlets, but ended up with some of the most beautiful views of Mount Fuji. We were incredibly lucky with the weather. Mount Fuji was right in front of us. We took tons of photos and videos. We went to Gotemba Premium Outlets not expecting much shopping. But the prices on sneakers were so good that we bought a couple of pairs each 😁😁😁. And if it weren't for the limited luggage, we would have bought even more. I won't go into the details of our purchases, but I'll just say that we ended up buying a sizable suitcase and filling it up nice and tight. Plus, we got a nice bonus: tax-free, which you can do in Japan right there at the checkout. And with the magnificent view of majestic Mount Fuji, strolling through the outlet became a special pleasure. This photo was taken from the outlet's terrace, where we were relaxing in comfortable chairs and admiring the snow-white peak of Mount Fuji against the bright blue sky. Gotemba is remembered as a place where beautiful scenery and great shopping combine perfectly. It's definitely worth a visit!

Address - Hotel Clad Atmosphere/Location - Gotemba Premium Outlets Highlights - Mt. Fuji views, a hotel right next to Gotemba Premium Outlets Average price per person - 3,500 THB (April 2026) Rating - 9/10 Shopaholics looking for a hotel with Mt. Fuji views absolutely shouldn't miss this place. It's located right next to the Gotemba Premium Outlets. If you're renting a car, you can just park at the hotel and walk over—it's incredibly close. No matter how late you shop, you won't have to worry about finding a ride back because you can simply stroll straight back to your room! Plus, the rooms feature a huge window right above the headboard, so you can wake up to a beautiful morning greeting from Mt. Fuji. Heading back to Tokyo is also a breeze since it's close to the expressway, or you can easily catch a bus right from the outlets. Cons - It's better suited for itineraries focused on the Shizuoka side, as it's quite a drive from the Kawaguchiko area (about 1 hour by car).

Here’s the ultimate Mount Fuji adventure—I planned it all out so you can have maximum fun with zero stress! 🏆 We kicked things off at Shinjuku Bus Terminal (Address: 3 Chome-38-1 Shinjuku, Shinjuku City, Tokyo 160-0022, Japan). Day 1 My friend and I checked in at Resort Inn Fujihashi (4-star, Address: 4007-1 Funatsu, Fujikawaguchiko, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi 401-0301). Hotel Clad Gotemba boasts a convenient location, connected to Gotemba Outlet by a pedestrian bridge. For those traveling by car, parking is free in the parking lot next to the hotel. My room this time faced Mount Fuji; opening the curtains revealed a panoramic view of the entire mountain. The bed was comfortable, with just the right firmness. There was ample space for the power switch. The room included a double sofa, coffee table, and room for two large suitcases. Additionally, the room provided bottled water, Ito En tea bags, and toiletries. The hotel has a large public bath, divided into indoor and outdoor sections. The outdoor bath offers views of Mount Fuji while bathing. Outside the public bath are a library, a relaxation area, and a small bar, allowing you to relax while enjoying the view of Mount Fuji. The buffet breakfast offered a wide variety of food, including cereals, salads, curry rice, bread, cheese, and drinks. This is a newly opened hotel under the 7x7 brand. We were incredibly lucky to be assigned room 904! The room faces Mount Fuji, offering stunning views from both the bed and the bathroom!! The room is a spacious tatami room and a Western-style room!! You can easily lay your suitcase out!! The bathroom has two sinks, a washing machine with a dryer, laundry balls, a kitchenette with dishes and a microwave. Perfect for friends and families!! The price is also very reasonable! We booked two nights for two people for less than 60,000 yen! (Booked two months in advance!!) It's about a 10-minute drive from Gotemba, highly recommended for those going to Gotemba Premium Outlets! There's a sauna (for a fee) and a free gym on the first floor. The gym seems special; the oxygen levels are set according to the high-altitude oxygen levels, doubling the workout effect. If you're interested, you can check it out. The two of us were completely out of breath after just 10 minutes of exercise! 🤣 However, since there aren't many good restaurants nearby, I suggest eating your fill at Gotemba Premium Outlets before coming back. The hotel food wasn't anything special, so I wouldn't recommend it. #NewYearGetaway2025 #RecommendedAccommodation #Gotemba #GotembaOutlet #LakeYamanaka #Mt.Fuji

Summer in Japan showed me the best of both worlds—Tokyo’s city buzz and Hakone’s calm onsens with Fuji in view. Travel light, take the rail pass, and leave space for surprises. The magic is in slowing down and living each moment Here's a detailed Tokyo → Mt Fuji → Hakone 3-Day Trip ✨ After a fun day at Tokyo Disney, I went to Shinjuku Station and took the Odakyu Romancecar straight to Gotemba Station. Stayed at Hotel Clad Gotemba — loved the Mt Fuji view room! It comes with free public onsen access and is only 3 mins walk to Gotemba Premium Outlets. There’s a complimentary shuttle bus between the outlet and Gotemba Station (do check the timing!). Gotemba sits nicely between Mt Fuji and Hakone, making it a great base. Day 1: Arrived in Gotemba, checked in, relaxed at the hot spring, and shopped at the outlets. Day 2: Spent the whole day at Mt Fuji. I used the Fuji-Hakone 3-Day Pass — it covers buses, subways, and entrances to many attractions in both areas. Make sure to catch the last shuttle bus back to the hotel! Day 3: Checked out and used the hotel’s luggage delivery service to send my bags back to Tokyo (super convenient!). Then enjoyed a full day in Hakone before heading back to Tokyo with the same pass. The Fuji-Hakone Pass was so worth it — convenient, flexible, and covered almost everything we wanted to see. #MyTravelDiary #VisitJapan #JapanTrip #JapanTravel #TravelJapan #DiscoverJapan #ExploreJapan #JapanVibes #TokyoTrip #TokyoTravel #MountFuji #FujiViews #Hakone #TokyoDiaries #FujiSan #SummerInJapan #JapanSummer #WanderlustJapan #TravelSeasons #SummerEscape #TravelGoals #BucketListTravel #TravelGram #TravelReels #Wanderlust #EpicAdventures #TravelItinerary #11DaysInJapan #JapanJourney #TravelWithMe

After realizing we couldn't see Mount Fuji from the Nikawa Watch Shop, we decided to head straight to Gotemba, where we could enjoy a close-up view of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mount Fuji 🥳 Gotemba Premium Outlets is Japan's largest outlet mall in terms of area, featuring a wide variety of brand stores. However, having just returned from an outlet shopping spree in Hawaii, the discounts here didn't feel as impressive. We wandered around for less than half an hour before deciding to find a restaurant to eat 😂 Gyukatsu Motomura seemed quite popular, and since there was no line, we took a number and were seated right away! The restaurant only serves fried beef cutlet set meals, available in three sizes. We ordered the sets with one and two pieces of beef cutlet. Our meals were served in less than ten minutes 👍 The set meals were quite hearty, with various side dishes included. One highlight was the delicious grated yam served with barley rice, which you can get a free refill of! The fried beef cutlet is cooked to medium rare, but you can use the hot stone on the table to heat it to your preferred doneness. Even when cooked to well-done, the beef remains incredibly tender and delicious! This was my first time trying fried beef cutlet, and it exceeded my expectations. The only downside was the strong smell of oil in the restaurant, which was a bit overwhelming. Otherwise, I would definitely want to try another branch 🥹 Gotemba Premium Outlets Store Address: 1312 EAST ZONE 2060, Fukasawa, Gotemba, Shizuoka 412-0023, Japan

This unassuming yakiniku spot delivers an exceptional meat experience away from the tourist crowds. The weekday quietness worked in our favor - we enjoyed personalized service from the English-speaking staff who expertly guided us through their premium cuts. The special wagyu set was the star - marbled slices that melted like butter over the pristine binchotan charcoal. Even their pork selections surprised us with perfect fat-to-meat ratio and flavor. The ventilation system deserves praise - no smoky clothes afterward! Ample parking makes it convenient for drivers. While prices run high for the wagyu, the quality justifies the cost. The combo meals offer better value for those watching their budget. Rating: 4.6/5 - A must-visit for serious meat lovers touring Gotemba. Tip: Their house-made garlic rice is the perfect carb companion to the rich meats. Ask about their daily special cuts not on the menu. Perfect for: · Wagyu connoisseurs · Quiet, quality yakiniku · English-friendly dining · Post-shopping meals (near Premium Outlets) Note: Weekend reservations recommended despite our empty weekday experience. Their lunch specials reportedly offer great value. #travel #japan #yakiniku #gotemba #japantrip #wagyu
