Getting There - The easiest and fastest way to get to Malapascua Island is to fly to Cebu directly through the Mactan-Cebu International Airport, which is located in Lapu-Lapu City just outside Cebu City. From there, you can ride a private vehicle or board a public bus to New Maya Port. Travel time from Cebu City to New Maya Port is around 4 hours. After that, you can hop on a boat going to Malapascua Island. The boat ride is between 30 minutes and 1 hour long. Attractions - Tourists can dive and see the thresher sharks and other marine life, its small island culture, smaller crowds, and the long stretch of white-sand beaches. You can also visit the neighbouring Island by boat which is Kalanggaman Island. Hotels - There are a lot of hotels in this island from budget friendly to luxury hotels. Food & Restaurants - This is a small island but convenient. If you want to have drinks or even party it's possible. Mostly hotels have their own restaurants so it's no trouble. Shopping - Buying some souvenirs for your friends or family are available too. It was a well-spent, one of a kind weekend in Malapascua Island. As a first timer, I was amazed by its beauty and life that it can offer. Stayed at a budget inn 500 meters away from the dock side, a walking distant beach and various food store. The inn also serves food or you can stroll around for alternatives. Kalanggaman Island! The virgin island

The journey to Kalanggaman Island was an adventure in itself. The boat ride was smooth and enjoyable, allowing me to appreciate the stunning views of the crystal-clear turquoise waters and surrounding islands. As we approached the island, the sight of the long stretch of powdery white sand and vibrant coral reefs took my breath away. Once ashore, I was greeted by the warm and friendly locals who made me feel instantly welcome. The island is well-maintained, with clean facilities and shaded picnic areas. The clear, calm waters were perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. Exploring the underwater world was like entering a vibrant aquarium, with an abundance of colorful coral reefs and a variety of marine life. One of the highlights of my visit was walking along the picturesque sandbar that stretches out into the ocean. It was like walking on a dream, with the crystal-clear waters on both sides and the gentle breeze soothing my soul. The sandbar is an ideal spot for photo opportunities and a perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. For those seeking adventure, there are various activities available on the island, such as paddleboarding, jet skiing, and even camping. I highly recommend staying overnight to witness the mesmerizing sunset and the starry night sky. The tranquility of the island at night is truly magical. The island is well-preserved and the locals take great pride in keeping it clean and pristine. There are designated trash bins and signs reminding visitors to be mindful of their waste. I applaud the efforts made to protect this natural wonder and urge everyone to do their part in preserving its beauty. KALANGGAMAN ISLAND: THE LITTLE "Boracay"

Because of the bird shaped of the island, it is called Kalanggaman Island in Palompon, Leyte. From Maya Port, the boat took us for more than an hour to the island. The place has no inhabitants. It is best for snorkeling and water sport. Its white sand makes it like Boracay but no major restaurants and accomodation. I walked around the island for almost an hour and enjoyed swimming for several hours. It was a very refreshing experience. Trip.com brings me from Manila to Tacloban City. At Tacloban airport, I travelled by car to Palompon which is about 121 kms for almost 2 hours. Tiring but my experience is worth remembering. #sea#island Travel#tripblazers

Golden Sands Beach and Resorts

Who else loves great view with Great food?? and large servings. … duh! ofcourse that’s what we all want! The place is so instagrammable , very quiet , cozy and soooo relaxing. bigger space for my “kiat and fun” kiddos. We’ve been there in Friday , yet the place is not crowded ; well organized. 👏 would always love to go back soon. 🥰 A very beautiful place, i felt secure and safe with their health protocols. Staff was so nice, polite and accommodating. Lots of activities like kayaking, biking, hiking and instagramable views of nature. Sun, Sand and Sea! All for free!

#summerbreak It was one of the best trips I had in Bohol. I went to visit my uncle and aunt's home in Clarin. They owned a bamboo walk that led to the sea. At the end of the bamboo walk, our boat waited to bring us to the sand bar. There were so many starfish in the area. We had lunch in our boat and swam to our hearts' content. Who said bonding with the family is expensive? I was glad I booked that flight from Trip.com and I was able to enjoy time with my family.

Cute, amazing island with just 2-hour travelling from Cebu city by Oceanjet ferry. Love the ride across the Bilar man-made forest while heading to Chocolate hills, the extraordinary greenary color of Loboc river, the tarsiers are amazing to observe as well. The only thing I didn’t like is the crowd at Chocolate hills which killed a bit of experience to me, as a nature-lovers 😂. Just wish I have more time in Bohol. #summervacation

Malapascua Island Staycation

#staycation One of the beautiful beaches in Cebu is in Malapascua Island. It is located in an island baranggay of Daanbantayan in the northern part of Cebu. We stayed in Hippocampus Beach Resort. Here, even this resort is in the beach front, we still got a very affordable room, good for 2 persons. Our stay there was very comfortable and staffs were accommodating and helpful. We were able to enjoy our stay there. The resort also has its own SCUBA diving shop that offers diving packages. #tripblazers #beachlife #cebudestination
