Dream World is a really fun place to visit, perfect for friends, family, or your loved one. The atmosphere is vibrant, and there are tons of photo opportunities, from the entrance to the inside. Everywhere you look is adorable! 📸💙 My favorite highlight is the Dream World globe landmark, a popular photo spot. It's beautiful both during the day and at night, with the mist around it adding to the grandeur, making your photos look like you're abroad! ☁️✨ Inside, there are many different zones with rides, including roller coasters, fantasy houses, and cute themed areas like castles and dream cities. It's the most thrilling 😈 ✨ The Oz World (Wizard of Oz) area opened last year, With the recent movie 🎬 "Wicked," I feel the atmosphere here is even better than the themed events at Universal Studios Osaka ✨ You can enjoy nostalgic animations on the big screen while dining in the central plaza 👏 On Lunar New Year's Day 2026, the park even arranged dragon and lion dances 🧧 ✨ For purchases over 300 AUD within the park, the receipt will show the tax amount, which can be refunded upon departure 🧾💰 If you buy clothes or souvenir items, remember not to open the packaging and keep the receipt safe ✨ ✨ Paradise Country ⬇️ This place offers a service to hold a koala and buy a photo 🐨 (Australia now has very few zoos or farms where you can hold a koala) The show schedules are well-arranged, allowing you to move directly to the next venue after each performance 🪃🐑🐕🤠 One of the shows even provides cake and drinks 👍 There’s also a free park shuttle ✨ Saw kangaroos 🦘 and koalas 🐨 👀 The only downside was not seeing wombats... Maybe it was too hot 🥵 and they were hiding... Couldn't find the adorable wombats anywhere. ☀️ The scorching sun made it too hot... We only stayed for about 2 hours before leaving 😅 Otherwise, there’s also a paid horseback riding experience for kids 🐎 ✨ Sea World ⬇️ Features animal shows and educational talks ✨ Perfect for kids 👍 There are meet-and-greets with SpongeBob, Dora, and Paw Patrol ✨ Compared to Movie World, the rides here are more suitable for children (gentle rides like merry-go-rounds 🎠 and teacups ☕️) 😈 But there’s also the thrilling "Leviathan" ride, a roller coaster that’s even more exciting than those at Movie World 🎢 Highly recommended with a five-star rating 🌟 Among the three parks 🍹 my personal favorite is Warner Bros. Movie World ✨ The rides are thrilling, and the wait times are not too long (compared to Universal Studios Osaka, this is heaven 🤣). The DC Justice League theme is fantastic, and there are plenty of shops. Plus, my favorite fairy tale "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz"—the newly opened area has many scenes that faithfully recreate the story 👏 For accommodation, I chose a place near Movie World and Paradise Country ⬇️ ✨ Big4 Gold Coast Holiday Park ✨ Stayed for two days 👍 The hotel itself has two water play areas 👍 The water slide area had 4–5 staff members 🥰 They were very attentive and carefully ensured the safety of all children playing in the park 👍 The hotel park hosts different activities every week ✨ You can check their website for the schedule 👀 When I booked the hotel, the photos didn’t show it was a villa—I thought it was just a regular motel 🤣 So I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival ✨ It had a kitchen, sofa, TV, dishwasher, microwave, master bedroom & secondary bedroom—it was quite spacious 👍 The only downside was the lack of a hairdryer and universal adapters 🤭 But I usually bring my own anyway.

Getting here is easy, whether by private car or public transportation such as vans or buses. (Van fare is 50 THB, with pick-up and drop-off at Victory Monument.) Sydney to Gold Coast Round Trip: Six Days, Five Nights During the school holidays, flight tickets were too expensive, so we decided to drive ourselves. The main challenge was the 9-10 hour drive between the two destinations, so we planned a one-night stopover midway. For accommodations, we chose only two places to avoid wasting time on frequent check-ins and check-outs. As for meals, we kept it simple and convenient, so we won’t elaborate on that. Day 1: Departure and Stopover at Stoney Park Early in the morning, we set off from Sydney, heading north towards the Gold Coast. Given the long drive, we decided to rest for a night at Stoney Park. Unlike bustling cities, this place is full of natural charm. We spent a peaceful night at a cozy resort surrounded by nature. Day 2: Water Activities at Stoney Park and Arrival at Gold Coast The next morning, we jumped straight into the inflatable water park activities at Stoney Park. The lake was filled with inflatable slides, diving platforms, and balance beams, providing endless fun. Everyone had a blast, and the morning was well spent. Afterward, we continued our journey north, aiming for the Gold Coast. By evening, we arrived and visited the SkyPoint Observation Deck, where we enjoyed a panoramic view of the city and its stunning coastline. The sunset over the skyscrapers and ocean was like a breathtaking painting. That night, we stayed at Ruby by Serain, a centrally located apartment with excellent facilities and views. Day 3: A Full Day at Dreamworld On the third day, we headed to one of Gold Coast’s famous theme parks, Dreamworld. It features cartoon-themed areas perfect for younger kids, and we even watched a tiger show. Though we were exhausted by the end of the day, we felt incredibly fulfilled. After dinner, we returned to Ruby by Serain to relax and enjoy the night view from the balcony. Day 4: A Day at WhiteWater World On the fourth day, we chose to visit WhiteWater World, the water park next to Dreamworld! The kids loved the water maze, while the adults enjoyed the relaxing floating pool. We returned to Ruby by Serain in the evening. Day 5: Aquaduck Experience and Departure from Gold Coast On the fifth morning, we took a ride on the famous Gold Coast "Aquaduck," an amphibious vehicle that operates on both land and water. The guide provided entertaining commentary about the city and coastal scenery. When the vehicle drove straight into the water, everyone was thrilled, as if entering a magical world. In the afternoon, we began our journey back, arriving at Stoney Park by evening for another night’s rest. Day 6: More Water Activities at Stoney Park and Return to Sydney On the final day of our trip, we enjoyed more water activities at Stoney Park. This time, we took a more relaxed approach, canoeing and snorkeling by the lake, while the kids remained enthusiastic about the inflatable facilities. It is located in Coomera, just an hour or two south of Brisbane. You can drive yourself or get a train to Coomera and hop on the shuttle bus. Actually this park is only part theme park, with interesting rides, especially for kids. It is also part zoo and part open air museum. In the zoo area you will see lots of Australian native wildlife such as kangaroos and koalas. In addition there are lots of displays on traditional aboriginal life in Australia as well as dance shows. The park is open every day from 10:00 to 17:00. Dreamworld is Australia’s biggest theme park, with a good balance of both ride and animal attractions. The rides have different degrees of thrill levels. There is also a focus on creating awareness on animal conservation while we got up close and personal with a whole bunch of animals around the park. The highlight of the afternoon for me was the Tiger Presentation at Tiger Island. It was super cool to see the tigers doing their thing – climbing trees, leaping through the air and diving into water – and to learn about what’s happening to tigers around the world. A ticket to Dreamworld also grants you access to WhiteWater World, a water park with its own set of rides and slides. Two theme parks for the price of one, so remember to bring your swimsuit along! It has a mix of a fairytale and retro ice creamery, and the rain also meant not much crowding in here too! An amazing experience filled with adventure, fun, and lots of adrenaline. The rides, especially the DC Rivals Hyper coaster, were truly next level and made the day unforgettable. It’s a fantastic place to create special memories with your family. However, during weekends and public holidays, there were very long waiting times for the rides, which can be a bit tiring and take away from the overall experience. Still, despite the crowds, it’s a must-visit destination for anyone looking for excitement and thrills.

The Superman and DC Rivals rides closed with just a light sprinkle of rain due to their high speeds, but they were truly enjoyable while they lasted. Both rides are quite thrilling and intimidating; even my 11-year-old, who typically avoids kid-friendly roller coasters or carousels, got on with some gentle persuasion, emphasizing it was a one-time opportunity (no pressure involved). She absolutely LOVED it! I must admit, the stomach-dropping moments were scary, but the experience is totally worth it.

I’ve visited the Gold Coast almost ten times, but I never knew about this spot. It’s absolutely stunning. Watching kangaroos and koalas relaxing in their natural environment is truly magical. Visiting during this season was especially delightful, as I got to see a few joeys, both inside and outside their pouches.
