It’s famous as a "power spot for love" because the two rocks align to form the shape of a heart. The contrast between the emerald green ocean and the white sandy beach is absolutely stunning, offering that classic Okinawan paradise vibe. I highly recommend going early in the morning when it’s less crowded for the best photos. 🧂 Nuchimasu Sightseeing Salt Factory This facility produces "Nuchimasu," a special Okinawan salt made using a globally rare method. Beyond the factory tour, the view of the dramatic cliffs and the expansive blue ocean right in front of you is nothing short of majestic. The grounds are home to spiritual power spots like: 🩵 "Kafu Banta" 🩵 Ryujin Fudo If you love jaw-dropping scenery, this is a must-visit place. 🏺 Tsuboya Yachimun Street The heart of Okinawa’s traditional "Yachimun" (pottery) craft. The sunsets in the evening are gorgeous, and the vibrant, illuminated streets at night feel purely magical. I find myself wanting to drop by here every time I visit Okinawa. 🍜 Kokusai Dori (International Street) The absolute staple of Okinawa sightseeing. It's a no-brainer for souvenir shopping, but it’s also the place to be if you want to fully enjoy Okinawan cuisine. My personal favorite is Okinawa Soba. The comforting broth made from pork bone and bonito stock paired with chewy noodles is simply exquisite. Firstly, Okinawa is generally a destination where renting a car is more convenient. However, since it's such a popular tourist destination, there are actually very convenient bus routes to all the famous attractions. There are even many one-day passes available. If it's your first time visiting Okinawa, you can just buy the Okinawa Fun Pass. Why do I recommend this pass? Because 90% of the included attractions are accessible by public transport, with convenient and frequent schedules. Plus, using this pass can significantly cut down on ticket costs, so I highly recommend it. Day 1: After arriving at the airport, take the monorail to your downtown hotel, and explore Kokusai Dori in the evening. Note: If your flight arrives in the afternoon, you can choose to stay in American Village to make the next day's trip to Churaumi Aquarium easier. Of course, since you aren't driving, I recommend staying at a hotel near Kokusai Dori for the entire trip. This is the most convenient option, as you won't have to lug your bags around, and catching buses is a breeze. Day 2: Churaumi Aquarium + Cape Manzamo. You can use the Okinawa Fun Pass for all of this. Tickets are included, and the bus route is very straightforward, saving you from unnecessary detours. Day 3: Nago Pineapple Park + American Village. In the morning, take a bus to the Pineapple Park for a half-day visit, then catch another bus to experience American Village at night. It's absolutely stunning, which is why it draws such a crowd. Buses run until 9 PM, making it super easy to head back to your downtown hotel afterward. Day 3: Gyokusendo Cave + Ou Island. These spots are also easily accessible by bus and are located in the same direction, making for a smooth, full-day itinerary. Day 4: DMM Kariyushi Aquarium, Itoman Market, and Toyosaki Seaside Park. I guarantee you'll want to spend the entire day here. You can stroll through supermarkets and department stores, and enjoy the free beach. Day 5: Naminoue Shrine + Senagajima. Since you're flying out on Day 5, lugging baggage around can be a hassle. I recommend leaving your luggage at the hotel early in the morning and heading to Naminoue Shrine to snap some photos. Afterward, pick up your bags, drop them off in an airport coin locker, and head to Senagajima. It's gorgeous there and perfect for capturing stunning, Instagram-worthy shots. Once you're done, head back to the airport.

Public Bath: Relaxing Spa Time with Ocean Views The ultimate relaxation highlight of this hotel has to be the panoramic public bath. Through the massive floor-to-ceiling windows, you get sweeping views of the emerald Okinawan ocean and the horizon. You can refresh yourself with ocean views in the morning and melt away the day's fatigue while watching the sunset in the evening. It’s completely free for hotel guests, and the facilities are exceptionally clean! (The windows in both the men’s and women’s baths have a one-way mirror film, so you can soak in the view with total peace of mind 👀) 🥞 3. Breakfast: A Buffet That Rivals Local Hotspots The quality of the breakfast buffet completely exceeded my expectations! Along with freshly baked pastries every morning, they have an incredible corner dedicated to local Okinawan specialties like taco rice, Okinawa soba, and champuru (Okinawan stir-fried veggies). You honestly don’t even need to go out for food—you can kickstart your Okinawan culinary journey right at breakfast! 💡 Quick Pro-Tips! 1. Make sure to take advantage of the free welcome drinks and the well-stocked self-serve amenity bar in the lobby. 2. Children 18 and under can stay for free when sharing a bed with parents, making it an insanely good deal for families! I am 200% sure I will stay here again the next time I visit central Okinawa. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay near American Village! 👍

It saves you a ton on transportation costs and even gets you discounted admission at various attractions! 📍 Easy-to-Reach Spots in the City 🛍️ Kokusai Dori Alight at Kencho-mae Station or Makishi Station. Naha's main shopping street is packed with restaurants, cafes, and souvenir shops. You can easily spend the whole day strolling around here. 🍣 Makishi Public Market Alight at Makishi Station. A famous fresh market bursting with fresh seafood and authentic Okinawan local dishes. 🏺 Tsuboya Yachimun Street Alight at Makishi Station. Okinawa's historic pottery district. It has a charming vibe, perfect for photography enthusiasts and craft lovers. 🏯 Shuri Castle Alight at Shuri Station. Just a 15-minute walk or a quick bus ride from the station. This is a major historical landmark of the Ryukyu Kingdom. 🛍️ Omoromachi Alight at Omoromachi Station. A highly popular shopping hub featuring DFS, Naha Main Place, plenty of clothing boutiques, and a wide array of dining options. ⛩️ Naminoue Shrine Alight at Asahibashi Station. An American-style seaside complex loaded with restaurants, cafes, and incredibly photogenic spots. 🛍️ PARCO CITY Take Bus No. 385 from Omoromachi or Naha Bus Terminal. A massive seaside shopping mall with all the famous brands under one roof. ⛴️ Island Hopping: One-Day Trips 🚢 Catch a ferry at Tomari Port You can take a boat to: 🏝️ Tokashiki Island 🏝️ Zamami Island In just 35-50 minutes, you'll be greeted by the world-class, crystal-clear waters known as "Kerama Blue." It's an absolute paradise for diving, swimming, and spotting sea turtles. 💕 After doing it myself, I can confidently say that Okinawa is incredibly easy to navigate, even without a car. Just stay in Naha, plan your routes ahead of time, and check the bus schedules. You'll be able to comfortably experience the city, the culture, the beaches, and the iconic landmarks!

I went on a food-hopping tour in the Chatan area of Okinawa that completely satisfied both my stomach and my soul! From a highly-anticipated, artisanal Okinawa soba shop to iconic American brands synonymous with Okinawa, here is the ultimate route you absolutely have to try! ✨ [1st Stop: Okinawa Soba Sunagawa Seimenjo] First up is "Sunagawa Seimenjo," a highly-talked-about spot right now in Chatan. Their ultimate pride and joy are the fresh, homemade noodles prepared right in the shop! The texture is incredibly smooth and perfectly chewy—it's so delicious it will completely change your idea of what Okinawa soba can be...! The clear broth has a gentle, comforting flavor with the deep umami of bonito and pork soaking right into your body. It pairs perfectly with the tender, melt-in-your-mouth braised pork, making it a bowl you'll want to drink down to the very last drop! 🍜 [2nd Stop: A&W (Locally known as "Ender")] After enjoying the soba, we headed over to "A&W" near the American Village! In their retro-American setting, we made room for some "Curly Fries" 🍟 These perfectly seasoned, spiral-cut fries are so addictive you simply can't stop eating them. Wash it all down with a gulp of their signature herb-infused "Root Beer" (which has free refills if you dine in!)—it's the perfect match for Okinawa's climate and instantly transports you to an American resort getaway. [3rd Stop: BLUE SEAL] To top off the trip, it has to be "BLUE SEAL" ice cream! 🍦 True to their slogan "Born in America, Raised in Okinawa," these colorful treats magically find a way into your stomach, even when you're completely full. This time, I went with a double scoop of "Salt Chinsuko" and "Blue Wave." The balance of rich and refreshing flavors was absolutely spot-on, creating a picture-perfect dessert time against Okinawa's brilliant blue sky and ocean. 🌈

American Village is another spot we highly recommend when visiting Okinawa, especially in the evening. We chose to drive there ourselves. Getting there is convenient, and there are plenty of parking spots around. However, if you visit during the evening or on weekends, it can get quite crowded. You might have to circle a bit to find a parking space, but once you park, I guarantee it's totally worth it. Personally, I think the perfect time to visit is about 1-2 hours before sunset. That’s when you get to experience the American Village at its most beautiful. The soft sunlight beautifully contrasts with the blue ocean, and as the sun starts to set, the sky gradually turns a stunning golden orange. It's so romantic that you just want to freeze time right there. The day we went, a young man was standing by the sea, playing the saxophone. The gentle music drifted along with the cool evening breeze as the sun slowly dipped below the horizon. It was a completely unplanned moment, but it turned out to be the absolute best memory of the day. This place offers a huge selection of American-style restaurants, cafes, and bars, serving a variety of food, drinks, and treats. We highly suggest grabbing a seat at a seaside restaurant, ordering a cocktail, and just sitting back to watch the sunset. It’s an incredibly relaxing and simple moment of pure joy. For us, the American Village is more than just a shopping destination or a trendy check-in spot. It’s a place meant for taking things slow—taking a stroll, people-watching, listening to the waves, and keeping the wonderful vibe of Okinawa in your memories. If you ever get the chance to visit Okinawa, I highly recommend setting aside an evening for this place. I took a trip to Okinawa this week. As soon as I arrived, I headed straight to American Village! I had to make a quick trip because of time, so I took a city bus, and I'll tell you all about it. 📍American Village Address 15-69 Mihama, Chatan, Nakagami District, Okinawa 904-0115 This was my second time visiting Okinawa, and since it had been 8 years since my last trip, I was super hyped!!! This place is beautiful during the day, but I think it's most stunning in the early evening when the sun is setting. I hopped on a bus right in front of my hotel that went directly to American Village, and the ride took about an hour. A lot of people take city bus number 120, so you might want to keep that in mind!!! American Village was built around a former U.S. military base, so it totally gives off major LA vibes. With so many great restaurants, cafes, and sights to see, I highly recommend it as a fun travel destination!!! If you ever go to Okinawa, you should definitely make sure to visit this spot!

American Village in particular has a gorgeous vibe starting at sunset rather than during the day. As the sun sets over the ocean, seeing the entire street bathed in an orange glow is just so aesthetic. As one of Okinawa's signature tourist spots, it's a multi-resort complex where you can enjoy shopping, great food, cafes, and ocean-view strolls all in one place. Sunset Beach is right nearby, making it a great spot for a seaside walk, and the lit-up streets in the evening look incredibly beautiful haha Also, on Saturday nights, they sometimes have brief fireworks displays, so if you time it right, the vibe is absolutely unmatched~~ It takes about 35 to 40 minutes from Naha Airport by rental car! You can also get there by bus, so it's quite accessible. Highly recommended!

Date of Visit: April 2026 We originally planned to hit up Steak House 88, but found out it was temporarily closed when we arrived. After wandering around the area, we headed up to the second floor of a building in American Village and found Steak House BB. The walls were covered with autographs from Japanese celebrities. The vibe was very laid-back, somewhat reminiscent of an old-school izakaya rather than a typical tourist restaurant. We each ordered a combo meal: one Sirloin & Filet Mignon, and one Filet Mignon & Spare Ribs. Both came with a side salad, soup, and garlic bread. The doneness of the meat was pretty consistent. The filet was tender, and they certainly didn't skimp on the ribs. The sirloin was much fattier than expected—the first few bites were delicious, but it got a bit too rich and greasy towards the end. The portions were huge, and the two of us couldn't finish everything. Overall, the taste was on par with a solid steakhouse. It wasn't mind-blowing, but definitely not a letdown either. The pricing was pretty average for a steakhouse in Okinawa. If you're sensitive to greasy food, I’d recommend just sticking to the filet mignon. We also ordered Awamori for the first time—a strong distilled liquor native to Okinawa. When we ordered, the server asked how we wanted it prepared. We were caught off guard for a second before realizing they meant whether we wanted it diluted with ice water, hot water, or sparkling water. We went with sparkling water. The alcohol taste was quite mild, so they probably poured the Awamori a bit conservatively. It's a great, approachable way to drink it for first-timers, but if you want to experience the authentic flavor, you might want to choose hot water instead.
