If you visit Boracay, you can choose to fly to the closer Caticlan MPH Airport or the further Kalibo Airport. Caticlan seems to be a more convenient but more expensive. After your flight arrives, you can take tricycle to Tabon Port or walk 2km. Note that the boat to Boracay now leaves from Tabon Port, NOT Caticlan Port like in the past. I made a mistake by going to Caticlan Port first and realised that it is more for RORO and other marine purposes. By this mistake, I had an opportunity to see the Caticlan Town a bit. It is the last place you can stock up some food and essential items before you get on a boat to Boracay, where everything is expensive.

Its main, and essentially only, mission is to be your most convenient launching pad for your journey to the paradise island of Boracay. Your plan: "Arrived - Seen - Sailed." Here's a clear algorithm to avoid getting stuck: -Exit the airport: Immediately after claiming your luggage, you'll find yourself in a small terminal. Ignore anyone offering a "transfer with a tour" or a "hotel for the night." -Road to the port: From the airport exit to the Caticlan Jetty Port is literally a leisurely 5-10-minute walk. You can rent a tricycle (a motorcycle with a sidecar), but if you only have a backpack, the walk will be even faster than finding a driver. Follow the signs or just follow the crowd of tourists with beach bags. -Port (Jetty Port): This is your checkpoint. Here you'll need to complete a short quest: 1. Pay the terminal fee: A few dozen pesos. Look for the window marked "Terminal Fee." 2. Pay the environmental fee: This is the entrance fee to Boracay Island itself. Be sure to keep the receipt! 3. Buy a boat ticket: Buy a one-way ticket to Boracay Island (usually on the island's banh-wah boats). Where to eat? At the pier, pay the mandatory fees: terminal fee, environmental fee, and boat ticket (approximately 500-600 pesos per person). 4. Board the boat/ferry to Boracay Island. The crossing takes approximately 10-15 minutes. 5. Arrive at Cagban Port on Boracay. 6. From the port, travel to your hotel by e-trike, trike, or hotel shuttle. The journey takes 10-30 minutes, depending on your hotel location. Total travel time: approximately 30-60 minutes. How to get back from Boracay to Caticlan Airport 1. From your hotel, take an e-trike or shuttle to Cagban Port. 2. Board the Boracay → Caticlan Jetty Port boat (10-15 minutes). Pay the fees and the boat fee beforehand - 200 pesos per person. 3. From the jetty, take a trike or shuttle to Caticlan Airport (5-10 minutes). 4. You're at the airport! There are several entrances, depending on the airline.

When arriving on the island, it's best to have local currency (there's an exchange office at the airport, but it may be closed). You'll be met at the airport exit by companies that will take you to your hotel. Payment is generally in pesos; one company accepts dollars, but the exchange rate is very unfavorable. This is a hotel and restaurant located by the pier in Caticlan, specializing in Korean BBQ. The restaurant is on the first floor, and the upper floors are for accommodation. It's a fantastic restaurant with reasonable prices. I stayed in Caticlan for 7 days and ate there almost every day. It's a very memorable place.
