If you're looking for a short getaway from Sydney, Bowral is a comfortable option. Without needing to plan too many sightseeing, half a day is enough to experience a completely different atmosphere in the Southern Highlands. My main purpose for visiting Bowral this time was twofold: to see the tulips and to eat Gumnut Patisserie. 🌷 Tulip Time | Tulip Season I happened to be there during tulip season in Bowral, and the whole town instantly transformed into a springtime paradise. Large fields of tulips in different colors bloomed in the gardens, a vibrant mix of red, yellow, pink, and purple. Compared to some of the large flower shows in Melbourne or Sydney, I found Bowral to have a more relaxed feel. The town itself isn't large, so after seeing the flowers, you can stroll around the surrounding area, exploring the streets and residential areas without constantly rushing to the next attraction. 🌸 Southern Highlands in Spring Bowral is located in the Southern Highlands, and its climate is much cooler than Sydney's. Therefore, even just a half-day drive will give you a noticeable difference in environment. Thanks to Trip.com, you can easily compare prices with all other airline. Not a first timer with PAL but I just want to feature what I like with PAL. I like PAL because theey allow you to change seat upon online check-in for FREE! Yes, it is free! I did not expect it since with other airlines, they assign you with a seat and that is final! When you want to change it, there's a price for that. But with PAL, it is free. Another thing is that, they will give you snacks---a coffee or tea, water and cookies. Here's more, they have bigger seat dimension that is more comfortable.

We visited Centennial Vineyards twice on our four day trip to the Southern Highlands. The cellar door has a wine tasting of 10 x wines that you can choose from the list for $5. We went twice with different friends and was able to go in without a booking. Next door was the restaurant which we had lunch at. The food was quite good, and we got a table next to the fireplace. the building and surrounds are beautiful.
